Hi I recently joined and would love any recs for yorkie breeders in Georgia. I am really enoying this website-its great.

Susan, I live in Georgia and I am a "soon to be" breeder. I have two females that are "ready to go" and have recently purchased an incredible breeding/show prospect male. I will be offering his stud services as soon as my vet approves Peppy as a breeding quality little boy.

I live in the northwest portion of Rome and love to "Yorkie Talk"

I just got my yorkie 3 weeks ago from TyAva Yorkies in Marietta, GA. She is a very responsible breeder. If you want more info on her, pm me. :D

We have a show in 2 weeks - the last weekend of July in Greenville SC and then our Atlanta show is in August. You will see many of reputable breeders there showing - I totally recommend Ava and a few others. PM me if you would like.

I'm glad you posted! I've been to the YTCA website and there are a few members/breeders in GA listed in breeder referrals.

The Atlanta show is in Jonesboro? I've taken Lizzy down there before along with my IGs to visit IG breeders I know, and I have a friend whose daughter might be showing an IG as a Jr Handler. I think I will try to make it ringside for YTs this time.

Yes, the Atlanta show is off the Jonesboro Exit at the Expo Center off of 285. My club is sponsering the Friday show. The dates are Aug. 27th through 29th. The yorkies showing is usually a big entry. All your top breeders from the area and surronding states show, as well as the top handlers. It is the toughest competition, but very rewarding when you win. Ring times are usually posted the week before the show. Hope to see you there.

P.S. You are not far from me. I know where Ball Ground is. I work in Cumming and live in Dahlonega.
If your friend is doing Jrs. are you guys coming to the all breed dog club meetings in Cumming. We meet once a month.

i'm not to far from Greenville do you know date's and where the show will be i'm wanting to find another puppy lil girl but have never been to a show

I actually live off Matt Hwy, in Forsyth, not Cherokee. I actually feel like I live more in Cumming than in Ball Ground. My friend lives in Norcross. She is a member of Canine Capers Agility Club, but I don't know if she is a member of an all breed club. She is also an IGCA rescue rep and treasurer. I'm not a member of the SMKC, which I am guessing is the one you're referring to, have thought of joining a couple times, then never got around to it.

I told Mary Ellen to let me know if Nora, her daughter, was going to be showing, so if you see someone around the YT rings with a YT with floppy ears (she was rehomed to me and I am sure came from a puppymill), and a big red IG, a foster, but also from a puppymill, please approach me, I would love to meet you. I know exactly where Matt Hwy is and my daughter just lives down Banister Road. Hope to see you at the show. I have a friend who's daughter also does Jr. and has down really well.

It's such a small world. What are the odds that I would find not one but 2 people on this board who would live so close by. Before we moved to GA, I'd never even heard of Cumming!

Where did you use to live?
I was born in Ga and then moved to Florida with my family back and forth from the time I was 6-15 and then stayed in Florida till I was 32 and moved to Ga with my husband and kids. It was tough to move and not have family here. Just our immediate family, but we love it here. Cumming has really grown over the years. Did you know it was another Chicken producing town and they first got electricity there for the chicken houses first before the homes. Yep!

We moved from San Diego 7 years ago- so it was a HUGE culture shock to move here. And it doesn't surprise me to find out about the electricity in the chicken coops. I still get a kick out of the way traffic can stop on Matt Hwy if the chickens need to cross the road.

I moved from FL. I lived on Merritt Island and worked at Johnson Controls in Cape Canaveral. I came to GA when they moved our office up here. I have a sister in Melbourne and another in Miami.
