Tori Needs A New Family I need help rehoming this little girl or I'm afraid she isn't going to make it much longer. She needs a new family with the financial means to care for her. We found her Dec 10, 2013. She got sick in January. She is potentially very ill (suspected liver disease). If you want to know the whole story, click the link in my signature...keep scrolling past the donate button if it bothers you. I need help finding a group that will help us help her. Our county and city shelters are kill shelters. I have sent emails to several groups trying to get help with this little one and no one is responding. I'm not trying to make any money off of a sick dog. I'm trying to do the right thing. We've raised $50 so far which is a far cry from what it's going to take to do what she needs. At this point that could help pay someone for gas to give her a ride to a new home. We're in East Tennessee. Please? :( |
Bump!! |
you may try Buddy Care Foundation it is funded by a couple who raise funds to help dogs who have serious medical conditions that owners cannot pay for. If approved they may pay for testing and surgery if needed and you could keep her. Just a thought..sending many prayers for your family especially Tori. |
Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue, Inc. They should be able to assist. |

In regards to that particular grant, I don't think UT is going to take 25% off the bill. I just bought a house so my credit is tapped...as such Care Credit is off the table. |

YTNR has not responded to me. I filled out an application and sent a followup email. |
I don't think we can meet the eligibility requirements for that grant but thank you for the link. |

Good luck! |
No, that is not what I am looking for. She needs a new home. We have tried to raise the money ourselves or see what we can do about financing her care but it isn't possible. For that particular grant we would have to get the vet (UT Vet School) to discount their fees by at least 25% and we would have to put forward 25% as well. Also, it only covers $500, max. We've been told to expect about $800 for the diagnostics (which may or may not be conclusive) and if she needs the liver shunt surgery to expect it to cost around $2000+. Care credit is not an option for us at this time either. I know we can't afford this and I am looking to rehome Tori with a family who will be able to do what needs to be done, financially, since we can't. Someone likely turned her out because they knew she was sick and was hoping she would die from exposure (it's been very cold down here) or that she would be hit by a car. She experienced the severe encephalopathy almost a month to the day after we found her so this might be a recurring problem. If I can't get her some help soon...and if she has another episode like that I'm going to have her put down. I can't watch her suffer and be sick and not be able to do anything about it. It's breaking my heart, to be perfectly honest. |
Why are some of my replies are getting stuck in moderation? :( |
Short answer: No, Tori needs a new home. I am not looking for someone to pay her bills while we keep her. I'm not sure how you got that idea. :) We are looking to rehome her with a family that can take care of her medical needs. |
