Hi, I am in Gastonia. I am expecting my first litter of Yorkies this March. I'm very nervous and excited at the same time. |
Hello, We are in Wilmington, NC also. |
If any of you in Wilmington would like to set up a play date let me know. Bean is 8 months and spayed. She's @ 3 1/2 pounds. Completely potty trained but could definately use more socialization!!! There's a fenced in dog park behind Stein Mart, with seperate fencing for small dogs, but I haven't been there yet. |
We live in the middle of the state, an hour from Raleigh and 30 minutes from Greensboro. A new dog park opend up a couple of years ago near us, but they charge too much to join and I was doing a lot of clean up after the other folks who just don't get it to clean up after their dogs. My dog would get sick after nearly every visit too, so we quit going. |
South Charlotte Yorkies Hi everyone...we're located in south Charlotte. I do a lot of rescue work with our rescue www.RescueNCYorkies.com and also have fun with our Designer Dog Clothing : Lightweight Pet Stroller & Yorkie Harnesses webstore. Would love to connect with other yorkie owners. Are all of you aware of the demonstration on Petland at Arboretum on Saturday, May 9, 1-4 PM? Sponsored by HSUS protesting Petland puppy mill dogs. For me info, shoot me a line..come join us in this demonstration. Puppy mills have to STOP! Jan |
Jan, you have a couple of really good websites there! |
Sorry to hijack your post, so please PM if you'd rather, but I have been wondering what Charlotte, NC is like and would love some input. My bf will graduate next May, so we are starting to look at places we may want to live. Right now we live in OK (I lived in OKC for 9 years, but currently live in Stillwater, which I hate!) I've read so many good things (affordable, scenic, etc...) and so many bad things (nothing to do, no unique restaurants only chains, hot and humid...) that I don't know what to believe. I think I can handle some of the humidity, but this year is REALLY humid here and it is nearly unbearable. We just want to live somewhere that has a few fun family kinds of things to do and good places to eat (like small ethnic cuisine places, not Olive Garden). Also, how pet friendly is Charlotte? OK isn't the friendliest place.....I don't know of any Pet Cafe's (and not many patio dining spots that you could bring your pooch to, or maybe the weather is just to extreme here for much patio dining), and there really aren't many dog parks either. I'd love to be somewhere there were a few fun things I could do with my Bella!!! And, what are the vets like there? My vet is so good about calling back whenever I call to answer questions, etc.....I know I'm going to REALLY miss him/them sooooo much--I have definitely been spoiled! Thanks so much in advance, and again....so sorry to hijack! Please PM me if you'd rather so the OP'er can hear more about good groomers!! Thanks!! |
