Are there any plans for a GA meet up this Fall? I should be bringing Lincoln home next week! YIPPEE!! I wanted to see if there were any plans for a Georgia YT meet this fall (once the temps have cooled off a bit). It looks like all the GA posts were old and nothing new was happening. Let me know, I would love to try and be there. Wendy |
I don't know of any meetups already planned... but we could always plan one if there were enough people interested. |
Were in Douglasville, GA (northwest), so i will be checking back on this thread :) |
I am in Talladega, AL. Not too far away! I would love to come to a meet up this fall! |

I'm in Atlanta and would love to participate in a meetup. Pippin would have so much fun! |
I would love a GA meetup! although I do live in valdosta.. close to the florida border, and as gas prices are ridiculous.. is there anyway of planning a central GA meetup? |
In Atlanta I am fairly new to this site, found it because my Yorkie has encephalitis. What do you do when you meet? What types of places are you looking for? We live in Atlanta, so might be interested... |
We usually try to meet at a dog park so the dogs have a fenced in area to play and get to know one another. The owners usually just visit and talk about their wonderful yorkies. Sometimes we also go for lunch. I would love to get together this fall for another meet up. |
I'm in south Georgia, would love to come join you guys. |
This would be great. I live in Acworth. I would love to join a get together. |
I live in Rome and would love to have a Georgia meetup. |
Yorkie Meeting This restaurant group is dog friendly: The Dunwoody Restaurant Group We were at the one in Norcross last year during an arts festival there and they are across the street from a pet store (supplies, NOT animals!), and they often do joint events. Then the manager of the Brookhaven location told us that a Yorkie group was meeting at the Dunwoody location a couple of Saturdays ago. We weren't able to go. But there is obviously a "Yorkie group" here in Atlanta that gets together some. If I can find out any more information about it, I will let you know. But this restaurant group lets you take your dogs and sit out on the patio. Then they bring your pet a water bowl and are very hospitable. That is uncommon in Georgia because of the health department regulations. Additionally, the Hotel Indigo in Midtown is very pet-friendly. No pet fee to stay there and on Tuesdays during the summer they have Canine Cocktail Hour! Atlanta Midtown | Hotel Indigo Just thought you Georgia Yorkie parents might like to have these connections! Let's do it! :aimeeyorkLet's set up a Yorkie meet in Georgia. I have 2 date suggestions, the one that has the most yes responses by September 1st is the one we will go with. Saturday, September 27th - midmorning -OR- Sunday, October 12th - afternoon Please provide any dog friendly parks that you have enjoyed in your response. Or any other suggestions for location. It appears most of the responses came from people in the Northwest region of Atlanta. I have not taken Link to any yet so I will also do some research. I am so excited to meet fellow Yorkie owners. I am new at this, so any suggestions on location, activities, etc. are more than welcomed. And, should help make this a great event. Maybe we could get together annually or semi-annually if it all works out :o) I look forward to hearing from you |
Here is a link to the new thread, please post your suggestions/preferences there. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sou...ll-follow.html |
