FL meetup March 8th
 
In case anyone has missed it, we're planning a Florida meet up in the Orlando area on March 8th. Im trying to get the park narrowed down and am thinking West Orange is our best bet. Please go to the thread http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...=111728&page=4 and let me know what you think.:)

I will need good directions for the meet up.. will be going in my motor home.. then I will worry about where we stay after the day is over..
I will be bringing a playpen, and my two strollers.. I have Kacee who is scared to death of other dogs.. he is my tiny boy, and was attacked badly by a yorkie I had bought.. Yes, she is not with me any longer.. my daughter got a free yorkie...but he has to know the dog for awhile first.. he thinks they will attack him...

I'm getting so excited watching our list grow. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing all of the cute babies!:)

I think instead of Florida, you should bring the meet up to SC..:)

Aww I'm in the miami area, i would have loved to go to Orlando, but I'm going up to Chicago to visit my sister in March :(

I'm a huge wimp! Although even I'm not too wimpy for 60's- that has to be unusual for y'all though. We're having a little cold snap and our highs were in the 60s today- I hadn't paid attention to the news and walked outside this morning to take the dogs potty in a slip gown and barefoot- :eek: eek! We've had such a beautiful winter- highs in the low 80s- perfect! I wish it were like this all year.

LOL SC usually is about the 50's this time of year...just not in the 80s..but, I like cool weather(not cold), about 60's to me is perfect...wait until you start having hot flashes...:D

I have told a couple I know about the meetup in Orlando.. they would like to come also.they have 4 yorkies also..
If they come.. we would like to have our motor homes in the parking lots while we have the meetup... how can I find out if there is enough parking for this????
We also need to know what rv parks are close to the area we are meeting???..

If anyone can help me on these questions, please do.. time is getting closer..LOL

I think with both of us meeting with 4 yorkies each.. it would be easier for us to have the motorhomes at the park and after go to an rv park..

Not sure if there are bathrooms at this park.. we might need a potty break..

Also.. do we know how many is actually going for this..

Our friends are Daytona for the winter, and we are in zephyrhills.. so we will probably just meet each other there that day..

any help would be greatly appreciated.,..

Here's a list of dog friendly places in and around Orlando. The third category is campground-RV parks.:)

There should also be a number somewhere on the list of dog parks that you can call and ask the parks & rec people how big the parking lot is. Most of the dog parks I've been to have plenty of room in their parking lot.

There is a Pampered Pet Expo in Orlando August 8-10, so i definately think we should plan agead to have a meetup then as well! I know a few places on International Drive that allow dogs....and if we can get a lot of us to go, they might give us a discount on rooms! :thumbup:
