Email notifications
 
Jeeze, I am being bombarded with zillions of emails which I dont want. How do I turn this off, I dont see an option in my profile to do so. I hope it is not mandatory, it is quite annoying. All my good mails are being lost in this mess. someone please help. thanks

LOL, I turned it off at one time and then turned it back on.

If you want to stop them altogether:
* Click on User CP in the blue bar
* Click on User Options on the left
* Under "Default Thread Subscription Mode," open the popup and say No e-mail notification.

If you'd rather do it one thread at a time, you can uncheck email notification on each post you make by scrolling down and changing what it says on Notification Type.

Thanks, I prefer none actually, I have been getting so many my regular mails are lost in the shuffle

I can understand. I have a gmail account that I use for Yorkietalk alone. It's easier to keep track of other e-mail.

I still dont want to weed thru dozens of emails, I dont have time for that. So I can stay logged on all day and just come check from time to time

I definitely know where you're coming from. The e-mail notification can be overwhelming. I've come to like it, though. If there's a topic that interests me enough to reply to, then I'm interested in others' opinions. If I don't get e-mail notification, I don't know if anyone has responded to the topic because I'm not online enough to see all the "new posts."

What's especially cool are the threads that no one replies to for months at a time. All of the sudden I'll get an e-mail notification on, say, the "man thread," and I'll know someone's talking trash about something.

I think it's a cool feature.

I am not saying it is a bad feature, it is. I just dont want so many emails. I have the topics I have replied to in my head so when I see it updated I read or reply to others. maybe I might make a new account just for this site:D

I turned off the feature too. I couldn't figure out what was happening at first! :)

You're getting notifications from old threads....

Go to your user cp panel....look for the link on the left which says thread subscriptions...you need to turn off the notifications individually on those threads.

:( It\'s better than not getting any emails!!!! I have not gotten one single email since May! I have tried everything!!! I have begged Admin for assistance but no one will even respond.

Geez, I love it and it hasn\'t been working for like 3 months!! Nothing I try works. Maybe I\'ll try another account, that\'s what Admin. said to do but I don\'t have one. You mean like a free yahoo or something? I hate not being able to keep track of the thread I am watching, learning, etc!@!!

I have a thread on hear about no replies. lol Everyone is different.
