Moderators checking posts? I am new here and wondering if moderators checking posts before they are listed is something that is done here. I recently replied to a post and it said that my post would have to be checked before going up? Did I do something wrong? |
I'm not sure, I'm still learning my way around. lol |
maybe thats for your first few posts or something??? |

hmmm, i dont know. but why would someone complain about you??? if you are following the guidelines then I dont think there would be a problem maybe you should pm a mod and see what they have to say, they usually get back to you really quickly |
Thanks, I don't think I broke any rules. I pmed admin so hopefully I will learn what happened! |
That happened to me a couple times but not on my first post. It seemed like it happened when I was trying to cut and paste something and I was also wondering what that was all about. |
I don't think they moderate like that - other sites do but as far as I know they don't have to approve a post ...that would be a HUGE job here LOL - but I've noticed YT has a few glitches lately - it could just be that simple |

was it a long post? it has happened to me with a long post, but never a short one! |
What section were you posting to? I know they moderate (is that the right word) in some of the for sale sections. |
This happened to me also. My first post was a reply and it went through fine, I think my second post I started a new thread & I got a message saying it was going to be checked by the moderator first, then it was posted soon after. I made a few other posts and then had another reply to a thread say it had to be checked by a moderator and everything since then has gone through w/out a problem. I think it would be a good idea to sporadically check new members to see if they are following the rules and also to see if they need any sort of help. If you aren't doing anything wrong it shouldn't matter. I don't know if it was a glitch or if they were checking them. I just went back later to check to make sure that my posts actually showed up and they did. |
I think it may be if you post in the Yorkies for sale or wanted forum. There is a sticky under that forum addressing it: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85116 |
I was just posting in the General Yorkie Discussion. It seemed like the site was having problems around that time though so that could have been what was happening. |
It says in the yorkies for sale rules that all new threads will be moderated. I didnt know that that occured anywhere else on the forum |
It does and I do :) Admin can specifically tell you all the technical rules behind it but yes, sometimes threads need to be "approved" before they are publically visible. Particularly if you are fairly new and have a low post count. It doesn't mean you did anything wrong or anyone complained (I promise)! I check as often as I can but I can't be on 24/7 so sometimes posts don't get approved until morning (I always check first thing). |
That must be new because they didnt do it when I was new. I think it is a good thing because it keeps people from coming on here that just want to start trouble or the spam posts. It must be alot of added work for the Mods and Admin though. Good job moderators and Admin. |
Some new posts by new members are moderated to protect our community as a whole. Posts are reviewed many times per day and usually show up rather quickly. Only posts by new members are affected by this, and only select messages are moderated. |
Glad to know you are watching out for us! Good Job!!! |
Thanks for keeping an eye on the forums...we all thank you...great job!!! |
Amen Moderation is necessary and appreciated (in all things).:) |
