New Section for Welcomes? Hi Admin, Was wondering if it would be feasable to make a new section perhaps titled welcoming new members? or something along those lines? It seems alot of new people post in different sections and they don't always get responses or aknowledged. This way, new subscribers could perhaps be directed to post in that section first, as a way to make introductions.??? And we can see and respond with welcoming posts to the new ones all in one area. Bad idea? good idea? :) |
Good idea :thumbup: When I was new, I didn't know if I should place my post introducing the boys and me in General Discussion or in My Yorkie's Pictures. |

I think it is a GREAT idea!!!! I was confused about the sections, too, at first. I did not even realize there were some sections!!!! DUH! We seem to have a lot of people posting all over the board with no regard to what section they are in. |
This is desperately needed ...I've seen intro's posted in several different forums also...sometimes new members tend to get overlooked when there scattered around ....I've seen new members only receive a couple "hello's" & it may be because it's skimmed over too fast....the new member them may feel unwelcome or rejected & won't post anymore... |
I think this would be a good idea too. I know that they now post in the General Discussion thread, but sometimes, the newcomers post gets lost. I would hate for someone to think that no one cares if they are new here or not. Great idea! :thumbs_up |

Thanks guys, I didn't come up with the idea, a couple other forums I am on have that, and it seems people really are grateful to have a starting point when joining a forum and it is nice to be able to welcome all that post for the first time, this would make it easier to find them. Hopefully admin sees this:) :) |

Thank you for your suggestion. We feel that newcomers will get more exposure by posting in General Yorkie Discussion or in My Yorkie Pictures and they will more easily integrate with the community this way, instead of having a separate section just for new members. Members can always seek out threads with just a few replies and read and respond to those threads. |
