Word versus YT Something strange is going on on this site when I pre-type my post on Word. It does not happen on all sites I visit, and something changed about a month ago on this site, or thereabout. Would you know if there is something I have to click or unclick so my punctuation does not get all screwed up? Here is an example, I am typing with normal punctuation, when I preview it?s fine, when I hit submit it goes bonkers. I have noticed this with other people?s posts as well?. Hi!!!!!!! (this is a test) He?s going to think I?m nuts, right? Watch and everything be fine now, and I will look like an idiot??. But, here is an actual example of a post that went crazy: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...30&postcount=3 Edit ~ OK, now it just happening with he's, etc........I did not use Word for this edit, and it's fine....... |
I told you to stop drinking those drinks with the little umbrellas in them :D :D :D :D |
That is crazy. Why do you type it in word first and not directly to the forum? |

I noticed this yesterday in a thread that you had posted in, I was searching for something and came across the christmas decoration thread and I noticed that yours was all messed up. Hmmm |

I have had this happen too. I would type up my post in Word (because of the time limit for posting) and then copy into into my post and the punctuation marks get all mixed up. I have noticed that in some other YTers posts too! I normally submit my post and then hit the edit button and quickly go through and correct the marks. I don't know why it does it, but it does!?! |

It?s probably because the forum is in html format and Word is not... just my best guess though. this is a test: It's probably because the forum this is another test: It's probably because the forum |
Okay, I've got a solution! The first sentence that I typed in my above post was in Word, and it messed up. The second two that say "this is a test" I typed in Outlook in a blank email message, both in different formats. As you can see, the two that I tested weren't messed up. So do you have Outlook or Outlook Express? I would open a new email message and type your responses in there, then paste them into the forum. That way it doesn't mess them up and make you look like you had 2 too many Mai Tais! ;) :p |

Britta, you're a genius, sending a Mai Tai your way! :island2: Thanks so much....... |
Woohoo!! So glad it worked for you. ;) Thanks for the much needed drink! lol |

I will have to remember to use my Outlook for that! |
I have done this before to and would write if a long post in new message in my email, then copy and paste it here. reason is if its going to be a long post I sometimes get disconnected (dialup) and then theres times when Ill get done with my post and it says im not logged in, This way I dont have to retype it all. lol But most of my post are short so I dont have to worry about it. |
