Questions for the Moderators....... I'm not looking for a job......I'm a busy girl. Can you tell us something about your jobs as a moderator on YT. How do you become a moderator? How many moderators are there? Do you keep in close touch and work together? Do you have certain "shifts" that you monitor? How many hours do you work? How much turnover is there? Or have you all worked here forever? Do you usually agree - or do you even need to? Do you have a life outside of YT?????? I think a lot of us would like to know more about you and your work as moderators. Thanks - Carol Jean |

OK, let's pick a fight, an' they'll HAVE to step in! LOL Having moderated both egroups and a board, I can tell you it's both fun and frustrating! Everyone wants a 'safe place to play', and it's not easy trying to keep the peace, sometimes - especially among friends, oddly enough. |
The moderators work very hard to ensure YorkieTalk stays friendly, useful, and on track. There are currently four moderators right now, and amazingly, they are rather shy, though they may respond to this thread if they are up to it. Moderators work countless hours for our community. Moderators are chosen by the YT administrative team very carefully, the most important thing is that all the moderators love Yorkies and want to see our YT community grow and be the best it can be. The rest is all top secret! :D |

Yes, we work together Do you have certain "shifts" that you monitor? Hmmmm that's not a bad idea. How many hours do you work? 24/7 again, kidding! How much turnover is there? Or have you all worked here forever? I started last year but I can't remember exactly when. Wonder if I get an anniversary present? Do you usually agree - or do you even need to? We agree :) Do you have a life outside of YT?????? Yes, it involves Simon and Hallie (HAHAHAHA) Okay so I'm joking a lot :) We (at least I do) rely a lot on members to report posts (we get emails when posts are reported). We don't have time to read every post all day to ensure civility so we really do need your help. I LOVE being a moderator and being able to help so the time commitment doesn't bother me at all. Besides I'm here all the time anyway :) |
