Puppy Forum I know we have the Nursery forum for people to post pictures of their babies growing up. But how about we add a Puppy forum to ask 'puppy' related questions? You know, pee pads, puppy food, puppy shampoo, puppy toys, etc? Also, I think it would be good for new Yorkie puppy owners a place to ask questions instead of in the General Discussion area where it tends to be alot of older members putting down newer members who just don't know things yet about raising a Yorkie. |
I would love to know at what age goes a yorkie stop growing, mine is pretty small now at nearly 6 months, and i would love her to stay tiny, as shes my little baby! |
lil twinkle- There's really no way to know when "she" is done growing. Each pup differs based on genetics, environment and dietary intake. There are many Yorkie that stop growing at 8 months and then there are some like my male who stopped growing at 10 months in height, began to fill out (musculature) and then at 23 months out of know where he squeezed in almost another full inch in height! Now it's not like it happened over night, but I'm a FIEND about dimensions and watched him closely and always measured the same way on a table. In any case, if you want to really know just how much growth YOUR pup has left you can take her to the vet and have them x-ray her pasterns. They'll be able to take a look at her growth plates and advise you accordingly as far as what her dietary intake should be if you want her to slow down in growth (assuming it's healthy for her/ is she already underdeveloped as it is? No,then fine.). jm2c |
Good idea, although we need the advice of members with older dogs too! I have never been put down on this site.Hope you don't feel it has happened to you? |
Thank you for the suggestion. We feel that it is better that puppy-related questions be integrated into the other forums and not particular separated because a lot of those questions do apply to older Yorkies as well, such as potty training. We are sorry that you have seen some older members "put down" newbies, if you do see this happen, please let us know immediately. We aim to be a friendly forum for all and that kind of negativity is against what YorkieTalk stands for and believes in. With YT becoming bigger everyday, we do depend on our members to let us know when problems occur, as sometimes it is not possible for the YT Staff to read each and every post that is made. Thank you. |
