New Users Welcome Center
 
YorkieTalk is so very large sometimes a newbie doesn't get the warm YT welcome they should receive. It would be a wonderful thing if YT had an Official Welcome Center/Welcome Committee that would make sure that every new member of YT received a heartfelt enthuiastic welcome and would announce to everyone else that, "Hey, guys, we have a new user!". I know that most folks try to welcome the new users,but when first posts are scattered all over, sometimes they get lost.

What do you say, Admin?

I think it is a great idea. I know I have missed welcoming some new members, and I really do mean to. I just posted on your other thread welcoming the new members you have missed. But you are right, they are scattered througout the entire board, and on different threads, and I sometimes miss threads for several days and then see them later and wonder why I missed them. So this is a great idea, to get them all in one place.

Admin should be able to set up a method by which a "Welcome Wagon Team" would automatically be notified when a new member signed up. Then the WWT could 1) send the new member a PM and 2) be sure that a post was started in our WELCOME TO NEW USERS FORUM.

I think the idea of having a place for newbies is a great idea. I like the WWT too....just let me know where to sign up! :)

I think you hit on a super idea...if all the newbie's started in one place so to speak I might have a chance to keep up and give a welcome to all.

I'm pretty bummed about Admin's take on this but hey, what can I do. I just read the above thread and don't find it is fair for New YT'rs to have to find their own way around here. I'm not new but not old to this forum either but have found it takes A LOT of work to be noticed in a "postive" way in this group. Many people here are in a "click" that does not allow newbies or the more "ripe" YT'rs are very quick to "jump" on threads by newbeis they don't find appropriate. Making friends here is VERY difficult and think the welcoming wagon was a great idea, even if not to actually post a seperate section for newbies but to put a team together to make newbies feel actually welcome. JMHO.

I'd like to add to this...new members are always welcomed here....people jump in to help them with pictures...avatars.... and questions every day...I know because I'm one of those people....and there are plenty of others that do this also.

sometimes it takes someone longer than others to feel really comfortable ....but keep posting...you'll see how many really great people are on this site.

With this many members.....I agree it can be a little overwhelming...but you get a little of everything here and a great mix of personalities.

and for any new members reading this...

WELCOME !!!!!!!!!
