I was wondering?? Not to start a thread that could cause a problem but I was wondering if it be a good idea to give the Beiwer breeders and owners their own section here. Where they can highlight the breed/colour different yorkie. They can talk the pros and cons of the breed. If they are a breed or not in their own little corner. What amount of colour is right or wrong. Those of us wanting to read it or have any ideas on the subject could go read and enjoy. Or just enjoy the pictures of the painted babies. Those of us only interested in the Standard Yorkies could still have their section on breeding etc. If Beiwers are going out of the yorkie breed per say than they need their own spot. If not they still need their own corner to well do their thing in. Just a thought. Joy |
I think that is a great idea.....maybe it could even be an "unusually colored yorkies" section with parti-colored, tri-colored, Biewers and chocolates all included? :) |
Well, according to what I have learned here True Biewer Breeders do not want Biewers considered Yorkies. They are to be treated as a breed of their own. Don't confuse them with Tri Yorkies. Tri, parti, and Chocolate are still Yorkies though different in color. I am sure this makes it as confusing for Admin. as it does for us. I mean if they are not Yorkies it seems weird that they have threads, let alone separate subjects boards of their own on a Yorkie forum??? (Should we have a space devoted to each breed?) Just like starting threads about our beloved tinies anyone is free to start a thread about the joys of Chocolate. :D YUM |

Seems like this is not so much "Yorkie" talk anymore, which if I am correct, is why we all came here? |
Ok..just so you guys know ahead of time. I will be speaking my mind about mixing Yorkies with Biewers. I perosonally don't think it needs to be another forum unless all views are fair game. Maybe we'd be seeing more hurt feelings..I dont' think it's a good idea. |
I have to agree with Yorkierini. If we exclude/seperate the Beiwers where do we stop? Do we exclude/seperate all Yorkie mixes, color combinations, tinies and larger Yorkies too? After all...they're not 'standard'. IMHO I think things are fine the way they are...excluding or seperating any one group would surely step on some toes and feelings would be hurt. I enjoy seeing pictures of and reading about all things Yorkie related and that includes the different colored Yorkies, the teacups and the teapots ;) after all, this is Yorkie Talk...not Standard Yorkie Talk...right? |

Again, this is just my opinion. I too love hearing about them and all other breeds. But others are made to put those discussions somewhere else, why should the Biewers be an exception. If I went to the 'Breeder Section' and posted a thread called "Pictures of my True Basset Hound" and did nothing but put pictures of her there, it would stay there about 2 seconds before it got moved. Why would this breed be any different? |
I think it's a great idea. |
Misty, they are separate. And I agree, I see that other pics of Biewers are showing up in Breeder Talk. All posts with Biewer pics and bragging rights (including my own) should go to the Bro/Sis section. Again, my mission is to get the message out that Yorkies and Biewers are separate. So, if someone asks or subject comes up about mixing the 2. I'm gonna say my piece. You can move all the posts I started about 'Biewers' Admin. |

Perhaps there should be a Beiwer Talk?? |
I think that on THIS forum, the place for biewer talk is in the Off Topic section. That would be really cool if there could be BiewerTalk forum on it's own, hope you guys can get one started! |
Joy, I think that this is a great idea and was thinking about suggesting it myself. I know that there has been a lot of discussion regarding Biewers, especially here lately and I think it has been a great learning tool not only for myself, but for many others. Yes, it seems like the majority of breeders want the Biewers to be recognized as a separate breed, but for now they are not (in the U.S.) and so what better place to learn about them than Yorkie Talk seeing as they are from the Yorkie breed. Maybe the brother/sister section is the right place, but could we possibly do a separate section.....like Our Biewer Brothers / Sisters?? I don't think there should be separate sections for the different colored Yorkies and mixes, but it seems like there is enough discussion regarding the Biewers to warrant a section and I think it would be helpful to those who are trying to learn about them. I agree that Biewer Talk would be an awesome thing, but for now I hope that the other YT members will continue to use this site to discuss and learn. JMO.......thank you! |

All this confusion sort of makes one understand why the AKC will have a hard time accepting this new breed idea. |

And yes, the tri-colored Yorkies would be kept seperate from the Biewers because while they may look similar to the novice, they are different. I'm not going to go into detail here as there are many posts regarding the two and much more knowledgable people on here that could explain it better than I, but while there is some disagreement about whether or not the Biewer should be a separate breed from the Yokie (and therefore maybe should be seperate from the general Yorkie discussions), the tri-colored Yorkies are considered Yorkies (just not standard color). Again, these are just my opinions and should not be taken as more than that. |
