Embedding youtube videos
 

I can't get youtube video to embed anymore. I can get them on my profile page, but not on the forum. I know they would only link and not embed if the correct address wasn't given, but I no longer know how to get the correct address. We have never been able to use the embedded code, but now that youtube has an option for sharing with other places, it won't embed here with any address I can find. I've noticed on the video forum other people are having this problem, videos aren't embedded anymore. I can embed an old video that I have an old address for, for example, Joey's spider video, but if I didn't have that old address, I wouldn't be able to embed from the information youtube shares. Any suggestions on how to get the address to embed youtube videos on the regular forum? Tried googling the question and couldn't find an answer.

I haven't done one in a while but from iPad I used to just copy and paste the share link,if that makes sense. It may not work any longer ,but that's how I did it in the past.

Yeah, that use to work, no more though.

Well boo! It was the only way I knew to embed a video. If you figure it out let is know.

I haven't uploaded on you tube for years since my now 12 year old grandson was into Godzilla! But yesterday I downloaded the app and got into it, posting Zoey playing with her piano and baby toys.

Let's see sounds like you are already registered with you tube?
I would download the app anyway. They have made it pretty simple, even slowees like me finally figured it out. You have to give permission to let them download your camera pics and vidios first. Something will pop up..This is coming from my ipad.....
That done, column on left click on "my channel" arrow to the right is the upload it will bring your vidios up. Choose one , it will play first, click on arrow in upper right hand corner, and make sure you click on "view as public" so everybody can see it.otherwise if you get in a hurry like I did it leaves it on private and you have to go back and DELETE it to re upload it.
THEN you click on arrow in upper right corner and it starts uploading , can take awhile.....after it's uploaded , play it and in upper right corner in screen area there are 3 options...click the middle one, and find "copy link" at the bottom. Then go back to yorkie talk and paste.

Yes, you can still the copy and link, but you use to be able to embed the video into Yorkietalk pages like this for example. The reason I can do this one is that I have the old address.

I can't get them to embed anymore either, and it really bugs me! I hope Admin or Koss can figure out a way to be able to do it again...

The "new" YouTube link is:
http:// youtu.be/ 9FsqOhY7-ds (without the spaces)

The 'filename' of the video would be: 9FsqOhY7-ds

For the embedding to work, you need to put in a link like this:

http: //www.youtube.com/watch?v= 9FsqOhY7-ds (without the space after http: in between v= and the 'video' filename)

So then it would work like this:


Also, we need to have the link be: http:// and NOT https://
