Hi, I'm new here, but how come everything I try to post never gets posted right away and says a moderator has to approve it?

I'm not a bad person or a spammer and with being restricted like this, if I had an important question that I needed a fast or urgent answer to, I'd end up stuck or having to look elsewhere because I don't know how long it would take for someone to review it and to approve it to appear in the forum :-(

I've been contributing to forums since the Telnet and BBS days (over 15 years) and I've never joined a forum that ever moderated my posts or contributions :-( I'm disappointed :-(

How long does it have to stay this way before I am trusted and able to contribute? I've written 4 posts (including this one) and it still says I have never posted, none of them show up, and I just get a message saying a moderator will review it first. :-(

I think things will change soon and you will not have trouble posting. I really cannot remember how it works in the beginning. Sorry about that.

But the real reason I am writing is to say welcome to our group! :)

I see 2 of your posts now. I think it takes a few posts - def not more than five. Hang in there though! It'll clear up really soon. Maybe post an introduction post to get the moderated posts out of the way? Welcome to YT :)

Yep, it only takes a few posts. When I joined I just kept posting and responding because I knew they'd show up sooner rather than later. This is a great forum and I appreciate the moderators attempts at keeping spammers to bare minimum. Waiting for approval on a few posts is quite worth it in the long run. Welcome to YT! You'll find some great Yorkies, Yorkie mixes, non-Yorkies, and owners here! :D

Only the first 10 posts are moderated. While you may not be a spammer, unfortunately, there are plenty of them out there. :thumbdown The mods here work very hard to keep this a safe and welcoming site for all.

If you have a question regarding your pet's health, etc., then your vet is always going to be your first best option.

Hi Angie, Welcome to Yorkietalk! I'm new to another forum and I'm being moderated, it's hard because I reply to someone else, and my post doesn't come up for two days, and by then, the subject has been talked to death and no one even sees my reply. It makes me not want to post, but I hope you stick around, we've had lots of problems with spammers and this is the only way to stop some of it.

Just keep posting replies to threads so you can hit 10 posts quickly. Then when you need to ask or say something quickly, you won't be moderated anymore. I didn't actually start any threads until I way was past moderation (it was like 2 months after I joined before I started any, but I was an addicted, posting fool by that point). Stick with us, it won't take long, and welcome to YT! :D

Achhhh! And you are only allowed 5 min to edit a post, so if you try and post a quote and accidentally delete the important part you were responding to, it is frustrating!

Hi Everyone, thanks for all the replies :-) it does show that I've written two posts, but I actually did 4?! Is this the product of my logging in from my iPhone or are they still moderated?

I've watched the forum for a long time before joining and I knew it was a great community, but I never had any idea everyone would be this welcoming :-) thank you for that :-)
