I think all new memebers are for a certain time limit or post limit. I was as well when I first joined. It's not a bad thing I think it is from preventing trolls.

It's one of those people who join and make up crazy outlandish stories just to create drama, and cause chaos.

We aren't supposed to feed them, but some people inadvertently do.


Original poster, everyone is moderated at the beginning. It's frustrating, but necessary. You were able to reply to messages, it just took some time for them to show up.

so what is the post count then? can anyone tell me?

I have a Parrot Board and I sure as Heck dont make my members go through this...especially when someone needs help...just saying!!

Well it's all about the forums individual rules.

What works for your forum might not work for this forum.

Because Yorkie Talk is so large many spammer use new accounts here to mass spam advertise for free know this site is so large they will get their ads seen.

It's a nightmare for mods to erase them all at once so new members only can post so much-just in case.

Also please note there are very specific forums so thread like this belonging the forum for technical support with mods or admin.

of course no one will fault a new member for posting in the wrong place-just letting you know-they will get answered faster with the right answer if posted in the right place.

And once again, not everyone posting they need help really does. So many people lie, make stuff up, start fights, cause drama, etc.

I'm sure you see it on your parrot boards as well.

I'm on several boards and have always been moderated. From yorkies, to surrogacy, to urban explorations, I have never joined a forum where I wasn't moderated.

I just found this thread on being moderated and thought I would read it because I was curious. I joined YT in January of this year and I never knew I was being moderated. Just exactly what happens to a member that is moderated. I know a couple times when I would reply to someone's post,I think it's called, I would get a message that said it had to be approved or something before it would go out. This did not bother me but was puzzling. But it does not happen any more. Thank you for your help.

Exactly the notice you described getting-new members posts are limited and must be approved to keep spammers from flooding Yorkie Talk with advertisements.

From time to time you might see it but it usually get reported right away and removed. You'll see a random weird comment and a link well that's it mostly.
