Link Advertisements Is it me or is anyone else horrified by the Texas Yorkie Puppies banner that keeps flashing on the YT website??? Just in case admin is not aware of what this is.....here is the link and also an exerpt from this broker site.....it certainly is very contradictory to the information YT tries to give to people about finding a reputable breeder. On top of being a broker site that SELLS yorkies, they have the gall to put "Adopt Me Now" on the banner. Adopt ??? Please...I am so sick of these people using rescue terms to SELL dogs. Disgusting. I also highlighted their cute blurb about their nationwide reputable breeders...as IF a reputable breeder would use a broker. :thumbdown:thumbdown:mad: Texas Puppies For Sale.com "We are an organization made up of respected Yorkie breeders and dog lovers devoted to producing the healthiest Yorkshire Terrier puppies possible. We accept only experienced Yorkie breeders who meet our strict breeding protocols to provide the best Yorkshire Terrier puppies to Texas homes and all over the US. We place puppies in lifelong homes in Texas and around the US, including Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Fort Worth, El Paso, Arlington, and Corpus Christi. All of the puppies available on this website are from our extensive nationwide network of reputable Yorkie breeders and may not necessarily be located in Texas. Shipping is available." |
I said something about ads for "teacups" on here all the time a few months back & was told those ads are put there by google, I believe, YT doesn't have control over that. The ads are generated using key words in what's on the forum as well as location, I believe, as I'm always getting sites selling yorkies in MI. It's very annoying but there isn't much that can be done about it from what I was told. |

Google gives websites/advertisers the choice of what TYPES of ads they want to use/advertise. So....it CAN change. It is up to the admin. Not my call, but I had to say something because maybe just maybe he will consider changing it if he realizes what it really IS. That is UNLESS things have changed since I last used their links. I am going to research it out of curiousity. |
That banner doesn't show up for me but I'm not in Texas. I just took a quick look at that phone number and there is at least one RipOff report with a puppy having seizures. :( |
I get this banner and "teacups" advertisements all the time here but figure it must be Google stuff. |
Admin can deny google advertisers solely on the website URL alone. |

Thank you for your feedback. We believe in educating Yorkie parents and potential future parents on how to find the perfect Yorkie for them. It is simply impossible for us to verify each Yorkie breeder that advertises on Google, thus we believe in sharing our Yorkie guides and how to find a Yorkie threads and letting each individual member decide what is best for them. |

It is one thing to say check out your breeder in the stickys on the forums...and quite another to advertise for brokers in order to make a few bucks for the site......just my humble opinion. |
Oh well...I will find a way to block the ads; but I feel terrible that naive people will click on that ad and end up with a sick puppy. People who are looking for puppies clearly do not always read about mills and byb because the shelters in TX are getting yorkies every single day..not to mention other breeds. BUT...our interest here is yorkies. I routinely click on the other ads to support YT. For now I am just going to find a way not to see them. So...you will lose a few clicks; but I suppose that does not matter. and WHY am I even letting this bother me anyway? I know how people are when it comes to money. :( |
It looks like they have made that site just a little too attractive. I imagine it is like "honey to a bee" for someone looking for a Yorkie, with no previous education on how to find a healthy puppy and a good breeder. As hard as this is to admit, I was one of those people before YT. On a different note, I did a search about Xylitol and dogs a few weeks ago and now I get constant pop-ups about food sweetened with Xylitol, when I am on YT. Guess those ads pay attention to certain words and individualize the advertisements. I certainly do not get the Texas Yorkie Breeder Ad, by-the-way. |
1 Attachment(s) Mine says California Yorkie Puppies. I agree I hate that ad, and it also says "adopt me now" I really wish admin would block ads that are so clearly brokers. |
I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to let you know that if you use Firefox as your web browser, they have an add-on called adblock. It keeps all ads from popping up on websites. |
