Stupid YT tricks: profile page messages
 
When you want to a reply to a message someone leaves you on your profile page, how do you do it?

Do you mistakenly reply on your own page and think they'll see it?

Do you go to their profile page and reply?

I recently discovered an easy way to do it right, and I'm wondering if everyone already knew this.

If you click "view conversation," you can reply directly to their page without leaving your page. Or vice-versa, if you're on their page and want to reply to something you wrote so they'll see it, you hit "view conversation" and reply in the window on their page.

I do use that view conversation to reply to messages. But, have certainly made the mistake of writing on my own page, then have to erase and do all over again on their page. :rolleyes: Thanks for the reminder about that feature... it does come in handy.

Unless I'm mistaken, that reply box is just sending a message to yourself. The person you're replying to doesn't get a notification that you've replied.

You learn something new everyday!!! I didn't know about that feature. I have always went to the persons page to reply. Good tip and I hope I can remember it:D

Glad I helped someone! I was quite excited when I discovered it because I'd always found it annoying to have to go to another page to reply, and half the time I'd reply to myself.

I've always used "view conversation" to reply. A friend and I discovered this feature when the profile pages first became available:p:D

Ha. Ha ha, I've had many a conversation with myself before I caught on. I do use the view conversation button. It also helps me to remember things that were already said. Some of us need that. Lol

Haha.....if you only knew how uninformed I usually am. I once won a contest for "who had their computer the longest, before they learned how to copy and paste".....would you believe it....I won with 10 years:eek:

Thanks this is great because I have posted some very long messages to myself and then couldn't remember what I posted when I went to the correct profile page.
