Is YT extra slow for anyone else?? For the last few days I have had so much trouble viewing YT. When I come to the site I get the front page just fine but when I click on the 'new posts' link it takes almost a full minute before it goes to the next page and that's if I'm lucky...sometimes it just stops and the page never changes. Also, when I'm lucky and I finally do get to the new posts page and I click on a thread I have the same trouble...almost a full minute to get to the new page 'if' it goes. This is not just my computer...it's has to be an issue with the YT site because it happens on both of my computers. I do updates and computer maintenance regularly and it's only on the YT site...every other site I visit runs just as fast and smooth as it always has. It's getting frustrating and makes me not want to visit YT...I have logged out several times because I can't get past the front page. Anyone else having this issue? |
No problem at all for me on YT..... it's working fine. |
Well, it's still slow for me today so I think I'm out of here for a while...can't stand waiting almost a full minute to open a new thread, go to the next page or reply to a post and looking at someone's pictures is almost impossible...maybe it will get fixed while I take a break. |
Do you have an older computer? I do and I've noticed that YT requires me to use CCleaner and restarts more often than if I'm just surfing the web or reading random web pages. I also have to run Disk Check more frequently. In my case, it is because I have an old '03 notebook with only XP and very slow RAM. But, by doing those things, I can speed my old wreck up for a good 2-3 hours and then have to redo the CCleaner. Then it gets really fast again. |
Sometimes it's slow and sometimes not for me. Should not be my computer. |

I don't know about your Toshiba? :confused: Mine is new and should be good in the size department. I thought maybe the site was having a lot of traffic? Not sure, I'm not a "computer guru" either - I'm sure there are ppl on site much more proficient than I in the pc world. Maybe someone can tell us why? |
Slower at nights for me. Some pages take.forever to load. Im on my samsung galaxy tablet and its quite fast otherwise. |
Well, I checked back in today and YT is still aggrevatingly slow for me...takes waaay too long to open a thread, turn a page or reply to a post and I can't see any pictures even when signed in. My laptop is new so it isn't an old computer issue. Every other site I go to works at lightning speed for me on both of my computers but, for some reason, YT is working at the speed of a slug. So, I will continue my break from YT...maybe something will change in the future. |
After all my bragging, YT was slow for me yesterday. I did all of the things I normally do to speed up my PC and it was fast on other sites but this site was very slow for me yesterday. Today seemed back to normal. |
I never have any problems here, YT runs as fast as any other site I visit. Have you tried switching internet browsers? sometimes that can make a difference. I run Firefox on my computer. |
Well low and behold...YT is back to normal speed for me...so...I'm back! :) |
My biggest problem is, that when someone adds an Attachment, instead of the picture/thumb showing, I see a Red "X". I can right click on it, and do a refresh and it then it appears, but that's a lot of trouble. Does anyone know what I might do about that ? |
I am so inept at computers but my Yahoo email does that to me and occasionally my IE browser. Check your security settings and see if they are set high. From what I read someplace, somehow images can add security problems. I never did understand what I was reading but I know that somehow what I was reading about - the red x but no images were somehow tied to security concerns and why the browser wouldn't let the image display. Made no sense to me but I took whatever action they suggested in the forum post and it worked - got my images. I don't remember what they had me do!?!? You can Google the problem and see what you get from some of the smarty's on computer forums and maybe you will find the answer that helped me. It made me less mad about it once I understood it was a protective device but I wanted it stopped and finally it did once I took their advice and did whatever(?) they suggested. Hope you find some answers. I know it is maddening! |
yorkietalkjilly, Thank you, I'll look into that, but... I may be a little reluctant to lower the Security Settings. I'm almost as paranoid about the safety of this Computer, as I am my Dogs. lol :D (almost) I've also herd, that a Website can be set, where if you don't accept/download the Images quickly enough, they shut it off, or it actually times out, and you don't get the full image. That may be the issue here too, I'm on DialUp, so it's slow. |
