Adm, please reconsider rules for posting Yorkies for Sale
 
I don't understand why just anyone (member or not) can come and post Yorkies for sale. Why not make a rule for only advertising on spay/ neuter, only after 12 weeks, not 1o weeks and require advertiser(s) to be a member here with actual posting involvement for at least 6 months??? and require NO advertising for breeding rights? Is that too much to ask?
We now are getting "breeders" advertising for breeding stock at only 10 weeks old :thumbdown and many join just to post to sell their "puppies". Money money money, its all greed.

Sorry don't know any other way to suggest, or perhaps someone who doesn't get as upset as I do about seeing these postings can come and make some appropriate suggestions for some change in the rules?? if adm is even open to change? I dunno :confused:

I think the active members do a pretty darn good job of monitoring those threads. And manage to make it educational for perspective buyers who never see more of YT than the for sale ads.

Monitoring is good. But it is after the fact. The forums on For sale should be representative of the best of what Yorkie Talk is about. Hopefully that being the support and nuturing of the Yorkie fancy. through many ways of sharing. If they offer any "for sale" forums, the rules should be much stricter. The requirements greater.

We have many posters who just come on here to sell pups.... What are we but another ... marketing medium that encourages, the proliferate selling of pups.

I would be happy if there was NO For Sale Forums on here.

We provide the For Sale forums as a service to our members who may be looking for a Yorkie. There is a thread listing what we would look for in finding the right breeder, but it is ultimately up to the member to do their homework before finding their Yorkie. We also clearly state we have no affiliation with any breeders or groups, and we also have strict guidelines for listing an ad, including requiring name, phone number, and email address.

We believe buyers have the right to ask questions publically and we think that is the best method. No breeders are required to post their Yorkie For Sale ads here on YorkieTalk and there are many other places people can post ads if breeders do not agree with our policies.
