For Sale Area suggestion I for one feel that the For Sale section should be closed to comments. One can post their for sale ad and if others are interested in buying then they can contact the seller thru email or PM. I feel that there is too much drama and things being posted that do not belong. For example, others blasting someone for the price they charge. I think it would be better if comments were not allowed, just the one post of the puppies/dog for sale and if someone is interested in such dog/puppy they can privately contact the seller without alot of drama. JMHO BUT....... if that was the case... what would stop a miller from coming on here and advertising puppies for sale to an unsuspecting buyer??? Hmmm.. can't comment... that just wouldn't sit right with me. I try to stay away from the drama as much as possible.. but some things MUST be SAID... Like I said, just MY opinion |

On price I agree... breeders can choose to sell pups for any price, if I think it is too much for me personally I would just not buy from that person. However, isnt there already a rule that price cannot be complained about? I think I saw that somewhere but dont remember. |

I also agree about price. It is no one's business to question someone else's price. Just don't buy if you think it is too much. But I DO think that if someone states things in a sales thread that is totally against the ETHICAL treatment of a puppy or adult dog, it is a RESPONSIBILITY of any responsible person to question it. |

This subject has been discussed before, and although I don't agree with all of the selling of dogs here, understand admins position and have tried to abide by the rules in that section. Because I am so disturbed by the for sale ads, I try to stay away from the for sale section.....but some things (ads) can not be ignored and allowed to continue without comment! |
I agree, Sunnie. The huge downside of allowing puppy sales here is that many people, especially newbies, mistakenly believe that the breeders who advertise here are screened and recommended by YT. Newbies are regularly referred to the For Sale section when they join and ask how to find a reputable breeder. I doubt many of them read the disclaimer in the rules. Comments on sale ads could save a potential buyer from making a huge mistake. Of course, all comments should be polite and educational rather than just personal attacks. |
Thank you for your feedback. We believe breeders should be allowed to sell Yorkies for whatever price they want to. And buyers have the right to buy or not buy at that set price. We provide the For Sale forums as a service to our members who may be looking for a Yorkie. There is a thread listing what we would look for in finding the right breeder, but it is ultimately up to the member to do their homework before finding their Yorkie. We also clearly state we have no affiliation with any breeders or groups, and we also have strict guidelines for listing an ad, including requiring name, phone number, and email address. We believe buyers have the right to ask questions publically and we think that is the best method. No breeders are required to post their Yorkie For Sale ads here on YorkieTalk and there are many other places people can post ads if breeders do not agree with our policies. |

Admin. would it be at all possible if the poster could have leeway with regards to deleting/ closing the posts if it becomes too personal (bashing and or insulting the poister?) I think this would cut down on so much drama |
