I can't tell you how to use a Mac, but you can find free photo editing software for the Mac, by just doing a google. Here's one. Apple - Downloads - Imaging & 3D - OSX Image Resizer Your computer probably came with something to resize pictures, but you can also resize pictures by using an online site, there are several, here's one. Picture resize, picture shrink. Shrink or enlarge a GIF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG Image. Easy, Free picture resize and resizer.

It's Very easy to downsize a picture on a Mac!
 
In answer to your question on how to "downsize a picture on a Mac"

#1 Open your picture in "Preview" which should be on your Dock - if it is not on your dock, it is in the Applications folder on your hard drive..

#2 When you are in the program "Preview" go to "Tools" and choose
"Adjust size" - you can make it any size you want.

#3 Save the image on your desktop or in a folder.

Needs help uploading resized pics
 
I have just started another album for my new puppy & can't seem to resize my pictures small enough to be uploaded! Why isn't there more room in the albums for pictures? I used Picture resize, picture shrink. Shrink or enlarge a GIF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG Image. Easy, Free picture resize and resizer. as suggested & reduced my pic 75% & it still is too large! Please help!!!!! :confused:

It's probably not because your pictures are too big, it's probably because you've used all your album space. Non-donating members have less album space than donating members. I keep getting this message, but the forum says it does not matter the size. Have no problem with Facebook or my websites and blogs. Please help. I only have one picture and it's my profile. The mess. says I must delete photos that I don't have here. Help!

Here's the message:You are allowed a maximum of 2048000 bytes of diskspace. If you would like to upload more images, please delete some of your older images and/or optimize your images using lower quality jpg settings before uploading.

You may be trying to upload a image that is bigger than 2MB in filesize. Members are allowed a total of 2MB for personal albums. You may resize your photo and try again.

stILL having trouble posting pics
 
well i tried down loading two programs that were suggested to me from Yt and i still couldn't get my pics to come out anymore, so i decided to let my husband do it for me since he's more computer literate but he said he couldnt get it to work so i'm out of luck! i'm so frustrated for that same reason that i can't post any pics of my bella ! now i really don't like to get on YT because i see everyones pictures and yet i can't put mine on .can anyone please help me again just tell me step by step what to do so i can put my babys pics on :confused:

well i'm back i tried one more time to up load a pic and now i was able to see that it was telling me that my picture exceeds my total album file size quota by 28.2kb and also that i only have 4.4kb remaining so what does that mean? do i have to delete my old pics or what??????:confused:

Yes, 4.4 kb left isn't very much. You need to either delete some of the old pictures, or become a donating member and you have a larger total album space. When you upload an picture to you album, make sure it's not very big, large pictures can use too much album space.

I was noticing some people have thumbnails which you can click on to enlarge the picture. Can anyone tell me how to create a thumbnail on a mac. I have a pc at work so if it is a pc program I could do it as well. Thanks.

They really don't have thumbnails the way you are thinking of them. It's just the way Yorkietalk attaches the picture as a small picture, and then you click on it and it becomes a larger picture. This works for everyone, whether you are a Mac or PC user. The album uses the space of the larger picture, not the thumbnail. If you upload an 6 x 8 picture in an album or a thread, it will show up as a "thumbnail" or small version of itself. Click on it and it will show in full size.

OK I have a picture I want to attach in the Valentine's Ball thread. I would like to have people click it and have it appear larger. I have a jpg file 108kb 99x125, a 13.4kb jpg thumbnail 125x125. Will either of these work better or do I need a larger size picture to have you create the thumbnail from. I understand the concept just a little slow.:confused: Thanks for your help.
