Yt history I would love to know the history of this site. Who started it and when and why. Is it in any of the information on the yt forum? |
I would love to know that as well! |
Hey, if there's not a history page, there should be! Here's what I know: It was started by a guy from Seattle (Dan, aka Fasteddie) who bought a Yorkie (Yoda, the one in the masthead) and couldn't find any good information online about Yorkies. So he plunked down a bunch of his own money and created a place where Yorkie owners could gather and share that information for free. That was in 2004, I believe. Now, six years, nearly 3 million posts and multiple server expansions later, Dan's still here but with a team of helpers who go by the name admin. Yoda's still here, and he has a brother named Winkie. Best of all YT is still here and free (donations accepted :) ) with a searchable database so anyone who wants to learn about Yorkies can find it. That's my understanding, anyway. |
And...last GE, Phoebe:aimeeyork was Winky-Wu's (that's what she calls him...) secret:animal-pabuddy and now she's secretly in love with him...hehehehe!!! |

Awesome thread. I wondered about that too. Read a bit on the new Yorkshire Terrier magazine, but not details. Happy New Year everyone !!! XOXO |
Thank you Thank you Dan for starting the most informative web site ever for the Yorkshire terrier. You certainly created a winner. I LOVE YT. Happy New Year. |
That is so interesting....why did I never think to ask this. Well Mr. Dan wherever you are, a heartfelt thank you for smiles, laugh, tears, joys, information, love, shopping, finding my second baby with the help of members, and then the strength not to kill t(just kidding now), that same baby because members here could talk me down when she would do certain stuff. There is no price that can be put on this website. |

Thank you for all the kind words! :) We want YorkieTalk to continue to be a free resource for all Yorkie parents who wish to learn more about their Yorkies, share their wonderful stories, and help one another when they can. Here is a thread on the history of YT: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sit...t-curious.html |
