Discreat Version of YT to view at Work? I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume I'm not the only one who tries to catch a few peeks at YT during the day while at work. It would be really great to be able to view YT without the huge banner at the top, and maybe also without the avatars with the posts. This would make the pages look much less suspicious for wondering eyes around. Maybe it could be like a different "theme" If this already exists please let me know how to switch to this theme!! Thanks!!! |

LOL, this really is a good suggestion :p. I keep YT open at work ALL day long....but I'm constantly minimizing it if I hear someone about to walk by. Oopsie. I feel YT makes me more productive at work, though :p, so I really do neeeeeeeeed to have it open. :D |

this is a great idea!!!!!!! It would be cool if we could "personalize" our YT. Have themes, like you said, like "discreet" or "beach" or "autumn" and just different graphics and stuff. And of course "original" :) good idea :) |
You guys are not going to like this.... but honestly you are on company time when at the job and using company's computers...... so to me it is like stealing from the company. Your company is paying you a days pay for a days work. Think about it, if you were hiring someone to clean your house would you appreciate it if they sat down at your desk and searched the web while you were paying them by the hour or by the job? It is the exact same thing. JMHO.......:eek: |
Well, I don't have too worry about sneaking on the computer on a job. Because my dh work's..........but if I did work, than I probably will take a quick look then. For those who does work be careful though,because no one wants too hear about a yt memembers' losing their job's,over this. The economy is hard as it is.:animal-pa |
I wouldn't advise doing something like that at work, but if you're interested in tweaking sites a bit (and you use Firefox) you can try these: Greasemonkey Customize your Web Nuke Anything Enhanced AArdvark Platypus YARIP It doesn't look like anyone's published a custom theme for yorkietalk, but you can make your own. I don't really know how to do that much beyond hiding images/changing colors though. |
I really do want to thank you for your opinion. I agree in general, however, I eat lunch at my desk most days, and we get an hour for lunch at my company to do/go whatever we want. Soooooo, I feel as though if I want to scroll through YT while eating a sandwich during that hour that it is perfectly fine. Though at the same time, we all take luncheds at different times and I usually don't take mine till 1 or 2:00 and feel that my coworkers may not understand I'm on my lunch--so that's why I feel a discreat version would be better. Plus, I manage our eComm site, so my job is really 24/7 anyway. They are getting plenty of work out of me . . . believe me! :) Quote:
