Agility and obedience section I think since there is a section for showing and breeding there should also be a place for those that compete in agility and obedience. Maybe there is and I just missed it? :) |
I don't think many members compete in these events. I am very interested myself though. Thor and I will be going to our first obedience class soon. :) I don't think he can do agility because there's only so fast you can go when you are four inches off the ground. I'd like to do rally, though. |
You'd be surprised how fast they can run. Scruffs is fast when he wants to be fast. First we have to get down the different obstacles and then we'll work on speed. We have two more lessons in agility beginner 1. He is a medium sized Yorkie, at 7.1 lbs. I don't think it'd work well for any Yorkie smaller than 5 lbs. He is the smallest in his class (except a dachshund, who is longer but shorter). There are a few 10-15 lb dogs. Good for teapot Yorkies :). |
I agree this should be added....just look at all the comments that are posted about Eddie and his new baby sister who is already into agility...:D |
I would love something on agility. Lacey is in beginning agility and flies through everything beautifully. her trainer just wont let her do the jumps yets because she is still too young. But let me tell ya, she wants to jump through that hoop so bad.LOL I actually have to hold her back from it. Oh and Lacey weigh's in at 3lbs 3oz. So yes, these little one's can learn to do agility very well.:) |
I would love a section for Obedience and Agility also! Sadie has taken several obedience classes and this fall will begin agility. It's what we do - our together time - and we love it. |
Count us in too. Daisy and I are finishing our second series of classes (beginner intermediate), and can't wait for more. She loves the class and gets so excited when we drive up. I would love to be able to discuss problems and successes with others. |
I would love to learn a few agility tricks. I was considering buying a few little things for the backyard and teaching Jackson, I think he'd be extremely good at it. He's really smart, fast, jumps really high, loves chasing balls, lol. I think he'd be perfect for it. I don't want to get into competitions or do anything serious but I think it'd be a cool way for him to drain some energy out in the backyard. I love seeing AlaskaYorkies videos! Anyone know where to find some cheap equipment? |
