1 Attachment(s) I think Gypsy & Me meant you can choose which type of editing program you wish to use, by going to user CP, and "Edit Options" at the bottom of the page is Miscellaneous Options, and several choices to choose from, "Basic" "standard" and enhanced, I think when I got my account back, it was set to the enhanced version. Here's a picture that shows what I mean. Right now the main downfall for me is that I can't see the special wallpaper someone has chosen for the message board on their profile page, I'll switch this back to standard, and see if that fixes the problem. Or if this is something totally unrelated. |

2 Attachment(s) OK that's was the problem. If you choose the enhanced version, you can no longer see the wallpaper that people choose for just the message board on their profile pages. The message board uses the same wallpaper as the surrounding area, and in some cases would make it difficult to type on. Picture one is how my profile, page message box looks to anyone that has "enhanced" editing. Picture 2 shows how my page would look to someone with either the basic or the standard editing. I love looking at people's profile pages, so standard editing is probably best for me, but I can see where the enhanced would be useful in certain situations were you want to paste in a message and keep things typed as they originally were typed, with the same formatting, and this enhanced feature allows you to do that. Also, you can do some wild type of font. :D |

the other thing I can do with basic is memorize the code for different smileys I use frequently :rolleyes: -- I asked once if other people have done this - but then I seemed to be the only one :p -- but I know a lot of codes for the things that don't automatically show up over here to the right - I know :hands: :wavey: :love: and a few more - so I don't have to search thru the big list :rolleyes: |

I couldn't log on between 2 and sometime in the early evening. I kept getting 'page cannot be displayed' and because I frequently have problems too, I thought it was my computer. |

There are 3 different message editors on YT. There is a basic, standard and enhanced. The basic doesn't have the formatting buttons, like font, bold, italics, etc, etc. It's esstentially just a text box. The standard editor and the enhanced editor look exactly the same and have the same features. The difference between these two editors is how the post you are making is displayed to you. Attachment 268661 Attachment 268662 Standard editor showing the BB code --- Enhanced editor showing how the post will appear The standard editor shows the BB code and unless you preview your post you won't see how your post is actually going to appear till you submitt it. The enhanced editor essentially works like a word processing program, highlighting a word and clicking the bold button will make the word bold in your editor. Most of the newer members should have the enhanced editor which I think is easier to use for the not so computer savvy. If you wanted to change your message editor though you can do this by going to your User CP, edit options and down at the botton there is a drop down menu under the "Message Editor Interface" section. |

I just want to add that if you do change the editing mode to "enhanced interface", the profile pages will show up differently than before. The message box will get its instructions through the "Primary Content Area" instead of the "Controls" area. The profile page won't really change; you will just see it differently than before, and this will affect how you see everyone's profile page, not just your own. |
