Frustrating YT issue I like to use the New Posts option - but this last week, I have been extremely frustrated. I can read one or two short posts on page 1 - and maybe just spend less than 5 minutes on page one, but when I try to move to page 2 - it does not go there, instead I get this message: "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. " Now, I have seen that in the past when I have tried to read thru all 10 pages of New Posts - because usually I think the info times out. But this is happening repeatedly. Sometimes I hit New Posts then I go to the last page & try to work my way back to page 1, but the same thing is happening there. I read what I want on page 10, try to go to page 9 & am told "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. " What's going on? :confused: :( :thumbdown |
I suppose there is some timeout feature because it's frequently updating New Posts. You can right click on a new thread, and choose "open in new tab" or "open in new window," and this will allow you to open up all the threads you wish to read before the timeout occurs. You can also do the same thing with page 2 or 3 etc. of New Posts. I often get this message: Quote:

yes, thank you Nancy. But this is a new problem -- in the past I have not had this problem ever - so I think there is a bug somewhere in YT's pattern - and actually today it is happening and there is not that much action on YT - on page 10 I found threads from yesterday early am - so it's not about things moving fast here right now |
The only time I get the "sorry no matches" error is when I've waited too long, not sure of the exact amount of time, but it seems like it's over 5 minutes. |
No in the past I could be on here for an hour or more reading page by page and commenting and never getting this message - so this is a new issue |
I too have had this issue, I thought it was because I spend hours and hours and hours on this site :) , guess that can happen to a newbie :) |

You know how you take your car to the mechanic & you tell them about this horrid noise - then they take it out & can't hear anything?? :rolleyes: -- well, now this afternoon I did my normal thing with no error messages over a long period of time. Maybe all I needed to do was complain :rolleyes: -- but I had the forementioned problem on multiple days in the past week |
I have not been having any trouble. Alghough I haven't been using the New Threads tab a whole bunch though lately. :rolleyes: |

The search timeouts should be fifteen minutes. If you click "New Posts", the pages of new posts should be available for only fifteen minutes. After that, the search is no longer valid. You may also use "Today's Posts" under Quick Links. That times out in fifteen minutes as well, but it should show you all of the threads that have new posts in it today anytime you click on it. |
Well that's interesting that you say 15 minutes because recently it has been much less -- but also in the past I could go almost all the way thru all 10 pages posting, and reading along the way without a problem. And you can see by my post count, I wasn't doing that in 15 minutes & I tend to make long posts :rolleyes: |
