message at bottom of screen Is anyone else getting a message at the bottom (far left) of the screen that says http://ads.shoppingads.com/ It has a yellow caution sign on top of a little page with the tip of the page turned up. I only get it when I'm on YT and only just recently. It's making my new computer very, very slow. :thumbdown |
Is it anything like a pop-up ad? I'm not getting what you describe, but make sure you have some good protection running and update everything. Slowing running computers often mean spyware has attached itself to you and it monitoring your viewing shopping habits. There are many good spyware programs available, and some like Norton's run automatically, others you have to actually run them manually. |
Hm... that's weird. I don't know what it could be. I use Avast for virus protection. I hate all of the big names, they slow your computer down soooo much because they're so big. Avast is free and good so far. |

Oh Thank You Ladies!! But Nancy where did it come from? And why is it only on YT? How do I get them to take me off of it? |

I'm not seeing what you're seeing but Firefox can block banners for you. Firefox also does a better job of blocking pop-ups. Are you using IE? As Nancy said, it is best to run spyware and adware program alone with antivirus. Spybot, Ad-ware, AVG, Avast and Norton are the ones I've used. I recommend not using Norton only because it costs money for something other companies offer for free. ;) They seem to all have their strengths and weaknesses though. |
We currently do run ShoppingAds ads here on YorkieTalk. They are not spyware, malware, or a virus and they are not pop up or pop under ads. The ShoppingAds ads should just show eBay auctions usually. We have not heard any other problems with these ads, and these ads have been on YorkieTalk for quite some time. |
