Ignore Lists
 
I just found where you can Ignore certain people on YT. I added a person to my list but see that their name still shows up...just not what they type.....does that mean they can no longer post anything to me? Does it also mean I will not have to read what they type? Thanks!

Don't know if you can see what I've written just want to make sure I'm not on your ignore list. :D

I think I read that once they are on your ignore list, you can't see their posts, and they can't send you PM's, but they won't know it.

You will not be able to read the posts by people on your ignore list. You can see that they posted, but it will erase what they posted. It looks a bit like a deleted post. You can see who posted it, but not what they said.

What if they post on your profile page? Will they be allowed to post or will they be blocked? Let's just say that its not the posts of the person that I didn't want to read but if they had 1,000,000 friends and sent out a greeting several times a day. Who the ignore list stop them from posting to you????

Seems they can post, but you cannot see it. I would like to prevent them from posting entirely, but guess you cannot do that.

To be prevented from posting entirely, they would have to be banned by admin. :eek:

Sometimes I use what I call personal ignore...which means I don't read their posts

I found I kept clicking the show post link just so I stopped wondering... really defeated the purpose... they left YT though so all's right in my little world again. :rolleyes:

You won't be able to see what they posted, BUT, if another member quoted their post to respond to them, it would show up in that post. (Does that make sense? :confused:)

It does...you just do not see what they said. I just saw one today that a person on my ignore list started. Her name is there, but I cannot read what she posted.
There are a couple of people who could say the sky is falling and I would rather have the sky fall on my head than read what they have to say. :p

I've never came across any body that I would want to ignore, but even if I did, I don't think I could do it, just for the simple fact that I'm nosey and want to see what they would be talking about... more so that I could laugh at their silliness.

If someone was consistently nasty towards you or if someone was inappropriate or offensive a lot of the times... things like that.
