'Quote' feature on YT
 
Does anyone else have a problem with using the quote feature on messages? I highlight a message and click "quote," and it doesn't always work. The only way I've found around it is to type in the (bracket) quote command before and after the message.

I hit the quote key from whoever I want to quote from and it automatically appears in the new post i am gonna post to.

Yes, I tried to just highlight the part of the message my reply pertained to and it
didn't work . I'll try that . Your flying avatar is so cute. Looks like you have two
yorkies in the original picture you posted at one time or was it Eddie's friend??

Does anyone else have a problem with using the quote feature on messages? I highlight a message and click "quote," and it doesn't always work. The only way I've found around it is to type in the (bracket) quote command before and after the message.


If you just want to quote a certain part or all of it you can use the relpy, scroll down to what you want to quote and copy and paste that is what I just did to your question that is one way :)

The best way is to click on the "Quote" button when you want to respond to a particular message. :)

I don't think I understand?? Eddie's Father's entire message came up. Couldn't you
just go to options on the message you are typing and click on Quote message in reply if you want the entire message to be quoted.
Will your way work if you just want part of the message ?? I'm not very good at
this computer stuff so ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?????????????

Good memory. Yeah, the original picture had Bruce running alongside Eddie. Bruce's Mom is another member here, and we got together to let the boys play.

I still must be doing something wrong with the quote feature. I did this one manually again, typing in the (bracket) quote commands before and after. I try hitting the "quote" button, and it only works about half the time.

Your suggestion is probably quicker, Snow Yorkies. thanks.

I'll bet it's my browser. I'm on a mac, and I've been using Safari to get on YT. I just switched to Internet Explorer, and it worked fine.

I think I know what you may be doing. I bet you go down to the end of the page
where it says post reply. If you go to the post that you want to quote and go
to the letter with the pen (click there) and then your reply has a place to check
Quote message in reply. I don't know, I never tried the other way but there
has to be a way that way too. Alot don't want a quick reply. Beats Me!!!

This was a strange, disjointed string, but the funny thing is, I think it solved my problem! After overlapping messages several times, crystalsmom suggested I use the pen feature instead of the quote feature. And, on Safari, that appears to work.

Of course, if it doesn't work here I'm going to scream.
