Picture sizing????? Can someone explain to me why we need to resize our pics before posting on here? I need it to be in "layman's terms" LOL Does it have anything to do with megapixels that our camera shoots?? Are our pictures higher quality pics and we need to down grade in order for the site to host all the pics?? (this question asked for lack of knowledge of terminology...LOL) I hope some one can explain to me in simple terms. I am just curious. :animal-pa |
Basically it is to save hard drive "space", as pictures can be up to 10 or 20 MB in file size for one photo. Thus we required photos to be under 200kb in file size or smaller to be uploaded to YorkieTalk. If everyone shared photos without resizing, we would not be able to store many photos on our server. We currently have over 165,000 picture attachments, and over 13,000 photos in the YT Photo Gallery. If we did not have size requirements, we would not be able to store as many photos and attachments. You can always upload your photos to a place such as Photobucket or flickr and then provide a link to your photos in your post if you would like. |
Thanks for the response. I was just curious. I don't mind or have a problems with resizing the pics. ;) I figured it had something to do with room. Again I don't mind resizing I just wanted to know for sure the "why". Thanks! :animal-pa |
