Changing logon names
 
I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find a thread on it so here goes....... and if it has, sorry for the duplicated question!;)

Is it correct that a person cannot change their login name? I kinda feel bad for those that have used their furbutts names and they no longer have them (due to tragedy or natural "old age" death). Is there anyway that this can be changed? With a good reason and the approval af "admin" (maybe have the old "alias" printed underneath the new logon for 6 months after the change). It would be a great part of the healing process to change that logon to something different for those that this affects. (maybe with a new furbutts name :) )

Shortly after I joined, I decided I wanted a different login name. The only was to do it was delete the old one, couldn't change it. So your post count starts all over again. I was pretty new so I did it but others might not want to.

I don't know the answer, but I like the idea of letting them change while including the previous user name for a period of time. That way, they can move on when they're ready but without cutting out the memory of their baby.

It sounds like a good idea to me. I think you need to pm Admin.

I know of one member who contacted admin after losing her baby and got a new user name. I think her post count started over though. So, I guess that is more like just opening a new account.:)

I can see where there would be a need to allow this, although I'm sure admin would be overwhelmed with requests if it wasn't severely limited. I like the idea of their old username being available for awhile too. Although, I for one tend to get to know who people are by their avi's...then they change them and I'm lost! lol

Unfortunately, we do not allow username changes at all for database reasons.

If you would like, you can create a new YT account and we can disable your current one, but then you would lose your post count and Donating Member status (if you are a Donating Member). And this can only be done one time per member.
