WEIRD question about yorkies in heat.. mine is experiencing her first heat cycle. As soon as it's done, I'm getting her fixed. Anyway, she's been in heat for about 2 weeks now... she's done bleeding, but her nipples are hard and swollen. Does that mean she may be pregnant?? Here comes the weird part... my roommate let her out the other day (even though I TOLD HER TO WATCH HER) for about 15 minutes, and when I came home and went outside, she had crawled under the fence where my neighbor's MALE UN-NEUTERED boxer was. Can a boxer even get a yorkie pregnant??? He is huge!! I'm so worried if she is pregnant it will be bad... I'm sure the puppies couldn't survive. Please help guys... |
heat last 3 weeks and I hope he didn't get her, I don't know if he could or not, but after a couple of weeks if your still not sure take her to your vet.. |
If you do the spay when shes done with her heat they can take care of any unwanted litter. This is the only option since boxer puppies would most cetainly kill her. Hope all goes well. |
Sounds like she was let out during her receptive period. It's definitely possible for a boxer to get her pregnant but the swelling in the breasts don't neccessarily mean she is pregnant. Most little dogs have swollen breasts during and after their heat cycle so it's pretty common. I'd go ahead and book an appointment to have her spayed. If by chance she is pregnant, spaying her will take care of that... There's no way she can give birth to puppies sired by a boxer... |

Yes, this is a VERY bad situation! You should have her spayed ASAP to end the possible pregnancy. Been bred to such a big dog is a GREAT danger to to her LIFE. Even if there was no tie witness. The outcome of such breedings is very often fatal.:( |
Please take her to the vet ,she will not survive giving birth to theses puppies if in fact the box |
I'm definitely getting her spayed either which way in about 2 weeks. I want to wait til she's fully out of heat until I bring her in. I'll ask them to terminate any pregnancy if there is one. Thanks guys.. I knew I was right to worry, but I really hope she's just NOT PREGNANT. |
