Bee Sting My puppy got a bee sting yesterday morning. We rushed her to the vet and they got the stinger out. Gave her three injections; an antibiotic, benedryll and some pain med. I'm concerned because she hasn't poo-pooed since yesterday morning around 11:00 AM. She has been peeing with no problem. She hasn't felt very good because of the sting and did sleep most of yesterday and hasn't had a whole lot to eat. I guess I am wondering if I should be worried or is she not going because she isn't eating much? |
I am sure someone on here as some words of wisdom! I hope your baby gets better soon. Sam got stung when he was a lil but I was very lucky the stinger didnt stay. |

It's probably from all the meds they gave her. Maybe you can call the vet tomorrow and see what they say if she isn't any better |
Antibiotics can give them tummy troubles, just like people. In people, antibiotics can cause constipation. I wonder if that's what's happening. I don't have the right answer, but I know someone here knows what to give for constipation. You could try that. We had a big dog get stung by a wasp inside his doghouse. Poor dog would never go in his doghouse again and that hair on his nose never grew back. Funny thing is, that we grew up with outdoor dogs as normal, but now, I couldn't leave any dog outdoors. My mom and dad said the same thing. Funny how our thoughts of dogs have evolved over the years.......... |
Thanks for the suggestions. She went potty about 10 minutes ago. Thank goodness! |
