Constipation What is wrong with the search on this site? The words constipated and constipation both come up with the answer of "this word was too long or too common and was excluded from your search." How the hell is anybody supposed to get any help when the search is so retarded? Anyway, what can I give my yorkie for constipation? He's trying every hour but nothing is happening. |
Give your puppy canned pumpkin and he should poop fine. You can also give him a teaspoon of olive oil in his food. If its real bad constipation you can also give him an emema using 1 cc of nutrical and if he doesnt poop within 1 hour give him another cc of nutrical. Good luck. |
I don't know that I can get nutrical around here. I tried when he was a puppy and couldn't find it except at the vets, which are all closed today. If pumpkin doesn't work, at what point should I become worried? He is only 3 pounds and my vet said that if he ever gets blocked up it could become really bad due to his size. |

Usually he is like clockwork, and has to poop as soon as we get out of bed in the morning. I can't remember if he went yesterday morning or not, but he started needing to go outside every 30 minutes to an hour at 4 this morning (needless to say, I wasn't too cheerful about it at the time!). I don't have a car at the moment, so I should be able to get to the store in an hour or so when my friend gets here. Then hopefully he should be on his way to feeling better~ |

I thought pumpkin was to help with runny/soft stools:confused: I read somewhere that mineral oil was good for constipation. |
Pumpkin works for runny stools and constipation |
Puppy Diarrhea/Dogs with Soft Stool: Plain canned pumpkin works well for puppies with diarrhea and adult dogs with soft stool. A few spoonfuls in their food will often stop it right away. The pumpkins adds fiber to the diet, therefore firming up the stools. It often works more completely and more quickly than KaopectateŽ if your pet isn't ill from something else. Trust me Kaopectate is not a good idea for little Yorkis try a bit of Pepto Bismal, depending on the weight a 6 lb. Yorkie should have 2.5 cc. I may be a little rough around the edges but no one loves little yorkis more than myself. Just los our second in 19 years, chech thread " dazed and confused " over the years have learned a s**tload about these little guys. |
Oh by the way University educated just not good with keyboards and spelling, as though it really matters. All that matters in this sad sick sorry pitiful world is the wellbeing of these lovable little guys. |
