She seems to be tender - Anyone else have this? 3 Attachment(s) Hi, Lexi has MVD. When I am running my fingers along Lexi's body, I hear her breath sort of sound like she is tender in a certain area. She kinda tenses up. I can hear it. Can MVD create tenderness on their body? I might add that she has had recurring Colitis. She seems sooo much better when she is on an antibiotic. I have posted some pics for you to see the area I am talking about. |
I'm sorry. I can't help at all, but I didn't want your post to get lost, so here's a bump....... |
I wish I could help....I don't have experience with this disease, but as a nurse I can tell that abdominal pain/tenderness is taken quite seriously in humans. It doesn't always mean something serious is happening, but it should always be checked out. Does she feel bloated? Can you palpate the areas (push in lightly) to check for any bumps or severe tenderness? BTW, are you going to the AZ meet up today????? :D |
I would go for a vet visit in case something's upsetting her stomach. |
Cali has mild MVD and I don't notice her having any reaction when i press lightly on her. SHe is very laid back and seems older than she is. My pom has colitis and whne on the antibiotic metrodronzile (sp?) it always improves. The vet gave me a lot of them to use when she gets bouts so I don't have to bring her in all the time. Maybe the tenderness is more from the colitis then the MVD. Iwould have my vet check it out. |
I have taken her in & the vet said he didn't see or feel anything there. When she is on the antibiotic, it is not as tender. You can barely hear it under her breath. She is usually facing me when I stroke her. I was just wondering if anyone else experiences this. |
Sophie had colitis and when I would pick her up, she would let out a small whine. Assume you are having a complete blood panel with protein levels? Watch her carefully since this is a very painful disease. Warmly, Deborah |
Sophierose, Can you tell me why I should take a blood panel? Is that what I need to do? Is that cause of the Colitis or MVD? How often should I do the test? What does it tell me? |
My Maddie is sensitive in that area too. Sometimes when I pick her up and apply any pressure in that area, she lets out a yelp. After reading your thread and looking at the pictures, I checked Maddie to see if she is sensitive in that area, and she does seem to be...noticing it in her breath and in her body...almost feeling like a spasm. Maddie has IBD which has been under control for the most part, so I don't think that would have anything to do with it. Next time I take her to the vet, I'm going to ask him. I never really thought about it until seeing your thread and pictures of where Lexi is sensitive and it's the same place that Maddie is. Hope your little Lexi is feeling better! She's sure a little doll! |
