Please Help-- Possibly Parvo?? I just got my girlfriend a little toy yorkie from a breeder on Sunday. It is 11 weeks old. I'll describe everything else later but anyways- She threw up last night and it was a yellowish color and my girlfriend was a little worried. She was at work all day and I got off at 1 so I swung by her house to go check on Cali (the dog) and she had a few spots of throw up everywhere- It could have been pee but I believe it was throw up. Now my gf is at the vet and she sent me a text message saying that it could be Parvo? Anybody have any experience with this??? Thank you, Joe, Brooke & Cali |
thats not good. Parvo is very bad to have but i dont know a whole lot about it maybe someone else on here can enlighten us both |
may i ask how big the pup is age and weight?? could the baby just be hypoglycemic?(low sugar) sometiems pups get too stressed when going into a new house. |
Oh, I'm sorry, this is very bad news. Parvo is really dangerous, and I'm very sorry to have to say that. Here is some info: http://www.workingdogs.com/parvofaq.htm I wish you ALL the best and I'm sending some healing thoughts for your baby. PLEASE let us know what happens. |
Hypoglycemia causes yellow throw up too. You may want to also pick up some Nutrical or Nutristat at the pet store to give her. If it is Parvo you need to get that pup to the vet ASAP! |

Yeah, this sucks. I hope she's okay. I'm still at work but my girlfriend is at the vet!! Good news just as I was writing this.. My girlfriend texted me and said no worms or parvo. I'll figure out everything else when I see her tonight!:animal36 |
wow i learned something new Dogs and puppies can contract parvo even if they never leave their yards Parvo can be brought home to your dog on shoes, hands and even car tires this is crazy!!! |

so happy its not parvo....:D |
We were using the stuff the Breeder was. Eukanuba- She gave us a sample as well as some Mighty Dog food. |
I would try searching threads and getting some input of quality dog foods....both that you mentioned have been found with bad fillers and not so healthy for your baby. If you need more info let us know!! |
I am so glad it's not parvo. With these little ones you have to make sure they are eating frequently and limit their stress when first bringing them home, You will get all the help and support you need here. Welcome. |
