chanel is acting weird. My 17 week old pound puppy chanel is acting weird.First last week she started throwing up and wouldnt eat .The first time she threw up I noticed there was a bird feather in her vomit.I took her to the vet and he said she had eaten something of the floor(probably the feather and who knows what else). He gave her a shot and an oral med. and she was fine after a few hours.Last night When I came home from school I noticed she wasnt as active as usual. This morning she started to throw up again so I gave her a little bit more of the medication for vomiting. After that she didnt vomit again and was eating normal.what worries me is that she seems a bit warm to me.I took her to the vet again but he was already gone for the day.His assistant took her temp. and it was 100.2 which she said is normal in dogs. She told me she seemed fine but I dont know if thats the case, I even saw her a few times sleeping on the floor next to her bed.She has never done that.Could it be that shes hot , does teething give them fever just like humans.Im going to take her back to the vet tommorow, but I needed some feedback and I knew right were to get it.Can you guys help me, any ideas of what it may be. |
How is Chanel doing today? I think this post got lost somehow, please let us know how she is doing!! |
You may want to take her back to the vet again, I really hope that is nothing serious:xfingers: |
Hoping Chanel is feeling better! :D |
Hope she's feeling better, and then you got her to the vet. I don't know if their temp goes up when the teeth. Sorry |
How is she doing today? I was on last night and can't believe I didn't see this thread?? I hope she is better--poor sweetie! :( |
Oh my I just seen this thread. Please update us on how she is doing:confused: I am sending prayers that everything is fine:hands: :getwell: |
I just got back from the vet.He says she keeps throwing up because she puts everything in her mouth and it upsets her stomach. He told me whenever it happens to stop giving her food or water for a few hours.I asked if there was a chance she may become hypoglycemic if I dont feed her.He told me she will be fine and if I feed her it will only prolong the time it will take for her to feel better. He also said that the vomiting is something i will see alot until she is older and she stops chewing on everything.I have a small enclosed area about (3x5 ft)were I keep her when I cannot supervise her.Lately I have been giving her a little more freedom to explore the house.I guess I need to wait a little longer to this this. The vet also told me its normal for teething puppies to have a slight fever, but it shouldnt last too long. Her temp was normal today. Thank god that everything is ok and thank you for worrying about my chanel. |
Seems a bit odd... Never delt w/ vomiting b4, but Ive found Meka sleep on the floor next to her bed... and I just took it as she was hot. But, I would definately keep an eye on ur pup cuz the vomiting is concerning.... |
