Can somebody please help me?? Riley's really sick I can't get to a vet until the morning - I think Riley's really sick. He hasn't eaten or drank any water all day and just lays on the couch. He looks so sad and has zero energy. Am I worrying needlessly?? I can't stand to see him like this. What should I do for tonight? |

Oh, thank you for responding! He's 18 months old so i'm not sure about the hypoglycemia....should I try the honey? |
i agree.. give him some honey.... it can't hurt... he should perk right up... do you have an eye dropper??? you could use that to get some water in him.. i do that when Layla is too hot and won't drink water... or if you have pedialyte or gatorade... same idea... just get something in him... is it hot there?? |

I did get some honey in him. And it is not hot here - in fact we've gotten kind of a weather change. This started with him shivering pretty bad early this afternoon so I turned on the heat. He quit shivering then got really listless. This is totally unlike him. I'll try getting some water in him.... |

Hope he feels better! |
shivering and listless. sounds like low blood sugar... you should see a bit of improvement now that you have the honey in him.... if you don't... try giving him more.... will he eat a treat?? that's how i can tell JUST how sick Layla is... i can usually get a Yorgurt drop in her (her favorite) so try his favortie treat.. then you can know for sure he at least has a little in his belly and be sure to check on him throughout the night |
He won't touch his favorite treat but I think you may be right - he hasn't been eating very well the last few days so maybe low blood sugar could be the problem. I got a little water in him and I'm going to give him a shot of nutrical. thank you all for your support - i feel so much better :D |
