HELP ME, KODAK hurt his foot AND....

Kodak and Kamari were outside chasing each other and the next thing I know they were laying in the grass. I was standing on the patio with my mom and I called them to come in and only Kamari got up. Kodak rolled over then growled when my mom got close to him. I saw that he was biting on his leg and I walked over and he tried to get up. He then started limping and wouldn't put his foot down. I picked him up and he flitched a little when I touched it, he wasn't whining or anything but he wouldn't unbend it. When I put him on the floor, he limped and layed back down biting his paw. My mom held him while I felt his leg and then I tried to pull the hair back and looked between his paw pads. I can't find anything sticking him now my mom is calling around to see if there's any emergency animal hospital open. Please advise on how to make him more comfortable. I feel helpless not knowing what to do for him. He looks so sad and he lets me touch it but he won't unbend it. I took some pictures.

Oh no! Poor Kodak!

Could it be that he strained/sprained it? Try putting some ice on it, if he'll let you. That might help the pain, and it might help take any swelling down. Definitely call the vet, and if he's not better by the morning, take him in!

You might also try crating him for a bit-it might help settle him down and get him off that foot for awhile.

Emma once fell off the bed as a puppy and she wouldn't unbend her foot for a little while either. I remember I was just SICK with worry. After an hour or so, she was fine and walking on it again.

We hope Kodak's better soon!

Ok, I'll see if he lets me put some ice on it, he lets me touch it but he gets touchy when I touch his paw. So far it's not swollen it's almost like he has a thorn stuck in there, he keeps knawing at it.

Hmmmm can you maybe have your mom hold him and his muzzle shut, and you take a look at his leg/paw to see if there's something in it? If so, try putting his foot (or him, really) in some warm water to help the thorn or whatever it is work its way out. After it soaks for awhile, you might be able to gently pull it out with a tweezers...

I would also check his pads and make sure one is not cut or bleeding...

Ok, I just got her back down here so we can try it and he's hiding under the bed. Everytime we reach under the bed, he growls and snaps:( I know he is mad and he's hurting but I'm trying to help him. I'm going to have to have my brother lift the mattress and the box spring so we can get him out. I just want to make it all better for him but he's not having it.

Poor Kodak, I'm sure he's scared, and he has an owie!

Good luck catching that lil guy-they're so fast when they want to be!

Nope, I couldn't find anything in his leg or paw, I need a magnifying glass to see thru his hair.:confused: He was biting and digging in his paw so much that he may have gotten it out himself. At least that's what I'm hoping, he's not in any pain so it make me think he just bent it while he was chasing Kamari. He's still limping this morning but not as much as last night, and he's putting his paw on the floor walking around more.:thumbup: I'm gonna keep watching him before I wheelchair him in to the vet.;) Thanks guys!

Hi guys, sorry I'm just getting back and thanks for the concerns, he is doing fine. He is not limping and I think it was a bee sting or something in between his pads that he managed to get out. He hid from me so I couldn't get to him to soak his foot. All that's gonna change when I rearrange my room around, he won't be able to hide like he did.:mad: The next day he didn't limp at all but I'm still going to have the vet check it out this weekend. So far so good.
