playing till he drops has anyone had their dog play with anything to the point of exhaustion? my chewie got a hold of a plastic ball that lights up and chirps, when he has it it is like he is on crack! he gets all hyped up barks growls runs it down throws it around and in just a few minutes he is panting , tongue hanging out, falling down like a drunk. i had to throw it out cuz he would watch were you put it and bug you to death to get it back. i thought he was gonna have a heart attack, he's only 2 yrs old. also i can't let him outside in warm weather more than 15 minutes cuz he gets over heated easy. gosh he is soo delicate, it is a shame cuz he loves to play. he will fetch a ball as long as you are willing to throw it. :aimeeyork |
He sounds like a typical hyper yorkie. I can definetly understand the heat, because here in Florida I only leave them out for five to ten minutes, so they don't overheat. |
Abby does the same thing. she falls in love with one toy at a time and never lets go of it until i have to take it away b/c its so torn up. She also plays herself to the point of exhaustion. a lot of times she passes out curled up with her toy :) its so cute. what you describe sounds like typical yorkie to me |
Wish you had sent it here to my two girls. I buy everything possible to get them to play, but they just aren't interested in toys! Was it a dog toy? |
I was just thinking the same thing! I'd pay a lot of money for a toy that would wear Spike out and keep him busy! |
pool Get him a childs plastic swimming pool...I have has some who would play in the water retrieving toys...when he gets hot, plop him in the water.. |
no actually it was for cats, (we have four) the cats were afraid of it lol, chewie would actually cry for it. clear yellow and red about two inches round ,flashing lights and electronic chirpping |
i'm talking about complete can't stand or walk, tongue hanging out, exhaustion, it would kinda scare me, i would have to soak him down with cool water,it was just too much for him to handle lol |
thanks that's a great idea, my brother has a larger kids pool for his great pyrenees/st. bernard mix but i never thought of it for chewie |
I've bought a few toys in the past that make noise, light up, wiggle and such and they just stare at them and walk off. I have a big ball now that has rubber flat tips (like a land mine) that jumps and vibrates but they won't go near it. Anyone want to trade something for it? :) |

Well anyway, she doesnt want it if you are shaking it, or even touching it. She loves to run around with the string in her mouth so that is starts chirping. or she wrestles with it and gets all tangled up:D its so cute and funny to watch :lol tears |
