Thanks... exactly the info i was looking for. And yogurt is ok to feed them? No bowel problems ? Will check out the honest kitchen . com link thanks again!!!!!! | My girls have absolutely no problems with yogurt. Each pup will react different, but as long as Emma isn't lactose intolerant, she should be okay with it. I use the Stoneyfield Organic as it is the only brand I have found that has more than one live active culture (it has 6). I use either the plain or the vanilla, regular or lowfat (depends on what they have with an expiration date out a ways). Just be sure to check the label of whatever you buy to make certain their are no artificial sweeteners in it as they can be very dangerous.
My vet is an advocate of the raw diet as well as home cooking and she thinks adding yogurt to their daily diet is one of the best things you can do for them.
My girls each get about 1/4 cup for breakfast with their Missing Link mixed in (this is the only supplement I give them). They get The Honest Kitchen for dinner (about 1/3 cup) and during the day they will get fruit as well as their treats. I like the treats from YTer Bren at Cafe Max, from ChattiesMom the Yorkie Yummies and we also use the Itty Bitty Buddy Biscuits from Cloud Star (Sweet potato are their favorite). They might get 3-4 treats a day - but they are very small. |
