I am so thankful you started your post the way you did. That had to be so scary and I am Relieved that your lil one is fine. Keep us updated as he goes on his follow ups |
These things happen and it's sometimes not in our control. You can't blame yourself. I had 2 Yorkies find a plastic 1"x1" bag of rat poison in a box of a small lighting fixture that was waiting to be installed. I did the same you did and emergency treated exactly the same as your Gizmo. They were both fine. It will take you longer to recover. They use it so rats don't eat the electrical wires. Who knew this, not me. These guys will find anything. Apparantly rat poison appeals to them more then the best quality dog food. I'll keep Gizmo in my prayers but he'll be fine because you acted quickly. Jessica |
Oh, Judy. That is so frightening and so glad the emergency vet was proactive. Will be watching for updates and they chew on electrical wires also. Little buggers! Warmly, Deborah |
OMG Judy!!!! My heart is racing 100 miles a minutes here! I am sooo happy Gizmo is going to be okay. I am still just saying OMG OMG OMG in my head....I am sooooo sorry u went thru this! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you need anything...Im here...anytime.....Give Gizzy a kiss from Bella and Diggy and me of course. |
Oh, Judy! I am so glad Gizmo is okay! What a scare you had! Please give him a hug for me! |
Sending major hugs and prayers. Judy, I know I might as well be talking to a wall, here, but you MUST NOT feel guilty. I don't care how well we puppy proof and/or child proof our homes there is ALWAYS something that skin/fur kids can find that can be potentially harmful. You should pat yourself on the back for acting so quickly and getting Gizmo to the vet as quickly as you did. Good work, Judy! |
omg what a scare! i'm glad he's fine! |
OMGoodness Judy! Glad little Gizmo is expected to be fine. What a fright! Tie that guy to your leg or something.:p |
I'm glad that Gizmo is going to be okay. Your fast thinking is what saved him. Gizmo is lucky to have you as a mommy!;) |
When I saw this I freaked out! I am so glad Gizmo is going to be ok and that you found him in time. Emma sends hugs and kisses! |
Judy first of all I am so glad to hear Gizmo is doing well now. But this must have been a terrifying experience for you and Gizmo. Bless his little heart, give him an extra big kiss from me and Winston. Another thing about using any type of poison to kill mice and rats is when they eat it...and hide to die...your pet may find the dead mouse or rat before you do then there's the chance that our pets will eat the poisoned rodent...also not good. Thank goodness you were there and had seen what he had gotten into and was able to tell the vet. I hope there will be no lasting effects from this on Gizmo...our little super hero. Try to relax now and get some rest...sorry this happened, but things do happen...you know??? |
Thank god you took him in right away!! I hope he has no ill effects from this and you dont stress too much more then I know you probably already did. |
I'm so glad Gizmo is okay and that you got him to the ER so quickly. I hope everything continues to go okay over the next few days. |
Gizmo Oh Judy, I was ready to cry already...lol I went thru this with both my Buffy and at that time my maltese Melissa (she now lives with my sister) and did not discover it until HOURS after they ate it. But TG they both made it just fine, so I have no doubt Gizmo will be fine also. To be on the safe side we will say a lil pray for him. Best Wishes, |
OMG! :( Poor You and poor little Gizmo! I bet you were both so worried and scared! Thank God you found him with it and got him to the vet so quickly! I was so worried when I saw the post! Give Gizmo extra kisses from me and Gypsy please... |
