sores around maggie's cast Maggie had her leg re-casted last monday. I have been keeping an eye on it and today notice that she is getting sores around the top of it. I am taking her to the vet first thing in the morning...but what can i put on it to soothe it for tonight??? any ideas? |
I dont know what would be safe to put on it that would be safe for a dog to lick off...hmmmm...hopefully someone else has some ideas..poor Maggie.. Dawn |
Neosporin and maybe stuff some gauze in there to prevent the edge of the cast from rubbing on her leg..? |
Could you stuff a little piece of flannel or fleece or something and make sure it's flat and then fold it over the top of her cast? Poor little Maggie..... |
Poor baby:( I bet she needs a whole new cast, this one must not be fitted properly. In the meantime, can you cut up an old soft t-shirt to put around the top of the cast and maybe try to keep her more still so she's not walking around too much? I hope it feels better soon, poor darling:( |
All very good ideas, hope it is better soon. |
Emu oil is GREAT stuff. It has natural healing qualities. I have mentioned here several times about a product called "Herbal Wound Spray" made by the Laid In Montana Company. It is absolutely FANTASTIC. We keep it here all the time and use it on almost all our booboos -- human and animal alike. The only supplement I am giving the furkids now is about 3 drops of emu oil daily. The difference in their coats is incredible! The contact informaton is: http://cart.laidinmt.com/home.php Right now they have a free shipping special on orders over $75.00. I just placed my order! |
