Yes, his belly growls in the morning. I just thought it was because he was hungry. Thanks, I will try to search for the pumpkin thing. |
I don't think anyone has asked yet.....did anything proceed this? Like did he have any vaccinations within 3 weeks of him beginning these strange symptoms? |
Parasites are not always seen when you take in a poop sample. One week after the new vet looked at Charlie's poop, he had segments in his stool. Mucus with blood in a movement. Of course, the new vet wanted another sample before administering medicine. I went back to my old vet, told them his symptoms and received his "stuff". It is amazing how fast they turn around when those nasty things are removed. Long story short, worms can cause many problems, so I would investigate. Also, his poop being shiny is not normal. Perhaps seeing an internist could be considered. He sounds like he is nauseated and the brown stuff is blood. My Sophie suffered from colitis and it was very painful. Good luck. |

I wish I could help you more. Shiny stool sounds like mucous. I don't know anything about the coccida or parasites that a lot of others have dealt with, but it seems to make them VERY sick. Sounds like they've tested for all that already though. Did you change foods or give him anything different than what he's used to right before this? If Otis has anything other than his regular dry food, his tummy isn't right for 3 or 4 days. Mucousy runny stools. I think I would go back to the vet, or maybe even a different vet. I know it gets expensive. Good luck, let us know. |
So glad Dudley is eating a little. I too agree with giving him whatever he will eat. As for poops, when you don't eat you don't go. I know...from a recent bout of that problem myself:D Patty |
Poor baby hope he feel better soon:getwell: |
Updates Any updates on Dudley? j:) |
I am taking him in again on Wed. for more tests. He is eating with the help of anti-nausea medicine, but not very much. i will let you guys know as soon as I do. I really appreciate your messages and suggestions. Thank you so much. |
Sending good thoughts to Dudley - keep us updated after his visit on Wednesday!!! |
I read about Dudley and I really hope he's feeling better soon. Poor little guy, when they get puny it just scares me to death. |
Oh poor baby! I sure hope Dudley's feeling and getting better. I think I'd feel better to if I got to the bottom of this and find out what's wrong in case it happens again. Hopefully your vet may figure out the cause of this. In the mean time, many hugs and kisses to strong, little Dudley. :hearts-xx:hearts-xx:hearts-xx |
well, I think Dudley is coming around. He is acting more like himself. He still has a few bouts of vomiting, but now every 2 to 3 days. I think maybe I let him eat too much. I didn't get to the vet on Wed. because I couldn't get off work. I have just been watching him and he really seems to be feeling better. He did vomit a big hairball Wednesday! Do your babies ever get hairballs? Do you think that could be the problem from the start? |
I am so glad that Dudley is feeling a little better. Maybe he just had a "bug" and hopefully he is over it. Patty |
