Sick or not? During the night Tinka got off the bed and was pacing and acting a tad strange. She used the potty pad and I got up to clean up, I noticed 3-4 little pools of clear mucus - some with blood in them. I've been reading on here of all the things it could be... :( Stupid me I threw the stool away. I didn't think of keeping it to take in when I take Brea in this morning for her spay. It was a normal stool - not runny at all. I wish she would go again before we leave so I could take it in for testing. |
It could be just that her anal glands were emptying. So, the stool was totally normal - but you found the mucus in a different spot? |
my little girl had that at one time, i took her to the vet and they stated her intestines was a little upset causing the mucus |

Why does it seem like so many things in life happen at once? |
I brought the goop in for testing. The fecal was negative for everything but the smear was positive for a bacteria. One that they normally have but hers was way over the amount they're supposed to have. So, they said to bring her in but after talking further with them, I'm just going to keep an eye on her and feed her small amounts of chicken and rice and see how she does the next couple of days. Thank goodness it's not contagious. I was afraid it was something far worse.... so I'm thankful... the darn test was $35.00. :( |
Oh, I just found this thread. Poor Tinka! Now just stop it Tinka. Be well 'cause mommy's stressed about Brea and you can't be sick too. I hope you just have a little tummy thing goin' on and you'll be well fastest as fast can be - and we know you CAN catch me! |
Rocco has this quite often and especially if I give him anything out of the norm to eat. There is some stuff that the vet gave me that you can buy online without a script.I will look it up tommorrow when I get a chance and post the info back here. It helps get rid of the bacteria. |
