banfeild I have a Banfeild plan took Nickie for some shots Distemper parvo leptospirosis bordatella free in my plan she had a reaction and went into shock. It cost me 150.00 60 for diphenhydramine ,dexamethasone epinephrine all injections 19.00 for iv however my office vesit is free but they charged me doctors supervision 13.04 and hospital ward 21.51 fee pet nurse care 10.05 heres a good one IV insertion 19.81 does this sound like a rip off Im thankfull Nickie is fine but I dont like being taken advantage of if you add doctors fee and nurse fee its the cost of the office visit. ps how many yorkies out there have reaction to shots |
It certainly does sound like they took advantage of your situation. I quit going to a vet here because she charged me extra to do a spay on an older dog because of the "risk" involved. I very quickly told her that risk cost her nothing and that I didn't appreciate being taken advantage of. Never went back. Have a great vet now that appreciates my pocketbook as well as taking really good care of my dogs. |
I think lots of babies have had either a reaction or have just been a little lethargic and sickly for a couple days after their shots. Sounds like they try to charge you for every little thing they can. Glad your baby is OK. |
Ellie went into shock and collapsed after a vaccine with Lepto in it. We rushed her back and they only charged about $25.00 and that was for the meds. The doctors fee was nothing because they injected the vaccine in the first place. That is a lot of money for that. |
Roxy had a reaction to her last 2 sets of shots. She had a reaction right after the 1st set and they gave her something for it ($59.00). We took her home and she started having a reaction to that and her face and mouth swelled up. Took her back for a shot of Diphenhydramine and Dexamethasone and a 3 hour stay at the vet's ($17.50). They gave her a preshot of Dexamethasone before her last set of shots to minimize the reaction $54.00). She was ok. Remy had no reaction. I hope Nickie is feeling better and the vet will be prepared for a reaction from any more shots. |
Banfield My personal preference is not Banfield. |
No Yorkie should be given Lepto unless you live in an area that has a lot of wildlife or high potential for the disease and even then the AAHA does not feel strongly about giving this shot. http://www.canismajor.com/dog/lepto.html Here is a website with vaccine recommendations: http://www.aahanet.org/2006 Go down the page and look for 2006 AAHa Canine Vaccine Guidelines |
ironicly the doc fee and nurse fee is about the same amount as waht the office visit would have been once my plan is done I will not use them again. PS I live in las vegas so lepto is not nessecery. |
Wow, you spent a lot of money, I was advised not to use Banfield because they were expensive. |
