More info on the Tinkerbutt
 

I just got home from the hospital. When I got there Tink was sitting up in the corner of the cage with the pillow case on her head and her frog in her mouth. The vet's assistant said she had been that way most of the afternoon - just kind of leaning on the cage. So sweet.

The tech put a chair close to the cage so I could take her out far enough to hold her without disturbing her IV. I thought they were going to remove it if she ate but they said not yet. She just licked and licked my arm. She is still very weak but soooo much better than she was. It's amazing how well she is doing. God is good to me again! If she has a good night and no seizures, I get to bring her home tomorrow evening. I hope so, but I'm also a little scared that she'll need more care than I can give her. She'll be home alone all day except for the hour around 1:00 when I always go home to potty her and play for awhile.

Keep up the prayers everyone. She is sooo much better but she still needs to get lots more healthy. Tonight they are going to feed her some baby food chicken and rice. She never liked it before and I told them that but they are going to try it anyway.:rolleyes: They should just give her a bully stick - that would perk her up right now!:D

so sorry you are going through this - i remember when dexter was in icu with pancreatitis with ivs coming out of his jugular and it was horrible - i just held him and kissed him as you only get about 30 minutes back there and he panted and shook - it was horrible - I hope i never have to experience that again so my heart aches for you right now. Hopefully she will be ok - best to wait til she can eat and drink. Is there anyway to get someone to stay with her tomorrow :( i know it is tough with work and all but would be good to have someone stay with her or maybe the hospital can board her while you are at work so someone can keep an eye on her - my vet boards for $15 a day so check into that at least she is with someone but not as expensive as the hospital - good luck :)

Thanks for thinking for me - duh! :) I don't know why I didn't think of boarding her at the vets. I don't know if the emergency hospital does it but our regular vet does. I could go get her after work each day. I'll ask them tomorrow about it.

Praying that Tink continues to improve and you will get to bring her home tomorrow. Great idea about day boarding!! Hugs to you....

I can only imagine how you must be feeling and scared to leave her alone. Isn't it amazing that even though they are so weak, the precious sweethearts reach out to us for a kiss and touch. Holding her close in my thoughts to heal and protect her from seizures or other infections.

Susie, it sounds like her spirit is shining through! Just keep thinking positive and soon she'll be back to her wild crazy self.

How old is Tink? Ozzie has been occasionally nosing onto the screen while your avatar is up. He's asking me who that "ebony looker" is. (Talks funny, doesn't he?:D ) I hope she is a mature adult. I'd hate to think my sweet boy is a dirty old man!!!:eek:

Well, sorry to have to break it to you like this but Tink is 'jail bait". She is 10 mo old today. How old is Ozzie? He just likes 'em young huh? That's OK, Tink is just at that age where she is beginning to look around at all the fellas. Last time she saw Ozzie's face on your avatar she was lingering too. But gotta tell ya she has some other suiters too.

I am glad that Tink is starting to get better. We will continue to prayer for her and may she have a speedy recovery.
