Sully is sick....advice? Hi everyone! Sully has been coughing, sneezing, and gagging/"throwing up" for 2 days now and I'm getting really worried! He hasn't been around other dogs or done anything out of the ordinary for him to be sick like this....but he's wheezing a little, and his coughs are noisy hacking coughs....and then he gags and throws up - though it's only clear liquid. He doesn't seem to have any drainage or mucus, so I'm really confused what's the matter with him. He hasn't been eating well for the past week or so. He just looks so pitiful and isn't his normal Wonderdog-self....ya know? We went to TN last week (where he chased the chickens, etc.) ....but he didn't get sick until 3 or 4 days after we got back from our trip....so it's not something he could have caught while on "the farm", is it? Finances are tight so I don't want to make an unnecessary trip to the vet....but of course we'll do anything to keep our Sully healthy and at this point, my husband and I are thinking I need to take him to the vet tomorrow. What are your experiences with this coughing/gagging problem? My poor little guy! :( Keep him in your prayers. I'll keep you updated on how he's doing. |

Feel better Sully uggg I dunno what to tell ya. Im a big fan of if anything lasts more than 24 hours, I consult the vet. EIther way you choose I hope he feels better soon! :D |

I don't want to work myself up over something small......but then again, I don't want to downplay anything that could be serious! We love our Sully way too much to let him go on being sick! It's breaking our hearts. :( |

I would take him in as does not sound good and could be something from trip as some times it takes time for reactions to happen - hopefully all will be ok |

I'm so sorry to hear Sully is sick. I wonder if he could possibly have tonsillitis. Maddie has had that a couple of times, but her cough was a honking type cough. The vet explained that there gets mucous in the throat and they are trying to cough it up. Maddie did throw up some white foamy stuff, but she didn't sneeze when she had that. I probably wasn't much help, but that came to mind when I read about Sully. Get well wishes from Maddie, Libby and I! |

Thank you so much for his get-well wishes! What did the vet do for Maddie to get better? |

(I'm going to bed....I'll update you in the morning!) |

The vet put Maddie on, if I remember correctly, clavamox which is an antibiotic. Is Sully eating okay? Maddie didn't want to eat when it was at it's worst, but shortly after being on the antibiotic, she started eating. If you take Sully to the vet, be sure that they look down into his throat. I'll be checking for updates. We don't want the famous Sully to be sick and hurting. *HUG* |

Awww, poor Sully! I hope it's nothing serious. He is such the little adventurer:laugh: Make sure that you tell the vet about the farm visit, it might be possible that he inhaled or picked up something there. Lots of animal feces and different plants there that he's not accustomed to, you know? |

Yeah, he's still coughing this morning - and he's not eating as much as usual - so I'm going to call the vet. |
|
I don't have any advice about what could be wrong...just sending get well wishes... Sully needs to get well soon so he could pose for more fabulous pictures and give everyone their "Sully fix" :D |

Oh.. poor Sully. I hope it's nothing serious and he's back to his adventures..in no time. |
|
I am sorry Sully seems to have a cold. Hopefully that's all it is and the vet will give him the meds he needs to get well again. Feel better soon Sully. |
|
He may have Kennel Cough, aka, a doggie cold. Hope he gets well soon! Let us know what the vet says! |
