My Rocky is vomiting Hello Everyone! This is my first post and i am pretty desperate! My 1 year old yorkie, Rocky, recently ate pork bones and I was not aware that it mght be bad for him. It tuns out that since he ate it, he has been throwing up and with diarrhea. Please! Does any one know what I should do? Is it simply to wait or could this be something more serious? Also, i gave him some nausea medicine that my vet had told me about once and i dont know if that is enough. Any advice will be highly accepted. Thank you for your time. |
i'd be calling the vet ASAP. the bones could get stuck in his intestines and then you have a MAJOR problem. Poor little guy. |
Please take him to the vet immediately! |
Yes please bring him to the Vet asap! This is probably a very serious matter. Please keep us informed :) |
Hello everyone. Thank you all very much for your reply. Well, it turns out the only thing wrong with him was an upset stomach. The medicine worked its magic and he has stopped vomitting and he has returned to eating his food and he is doing much better. :) Once again thank you all!!!! |
Oh good :) P.S. Pork meat in general is really not a good thing to feed, let alone bones. It has too much fat ;) |
That is what I have come to find after todays mishap. Thank you for your advice! :) :animal36 |
I'm so glad he's okay!!!!! |
I feel that it is ok to feed human food, but it has to be lean and bland. Never feed cooked bones of any kind. They are extremely dangerous b/c they can splinter inside their tiny body or they can choke on them. If you are going to feed home cooked meal, all veggies have to be cooked in order for dogs to digest them. No corn though, dog can be extremely allergic to corn. Meat (chicken, ground beef, lamb) should be very lean and boiled (but no pork). I don't feel that dogs need grains, but if I were going to feed grains it would be brown rice. Small pieces of fruit are ok too! No hotdogs or deli meats, they are extremely high in sodium and other chemical junk preservatives ;) |

also organic meat and vegetables are best for dogs as well and juiced is easiest for them to digest |
